I feel that I should write you something here, despite that there are no proper words to speak about it. This war is a crime, disaster and tragedy, and I can't believe it is possible. I know that you live in the USA, and I hope your family and friends in Ukraine are safe and sound. People there are amazingly strong and beautiful. Every day I wake up with one thought, that this must be ended immediately.

I totally understand what you meant under "couldn't make any sense of anything", and only can say that books and ""some volunteering" on Goodreads is the thing which helps being somewhere in previous life, forgetting for minutes what's going on, lowering my expectations for tomorrow...

Also, I believe the title should read either "Дуэль: разсказы и повѣсти" (as shown here: https://books.google.ca/books/about/%...) — the boldface letter is meant for emphasis in this post only and should not be bold in the displayed title — or "Дуэль: рассказы и повести". The current form of the title appears to be mixing pre– and post–orthography reform versions of the Russian alphabet.

I do not think changing the title is essential, however, considering the nonexistence of the letter ѣ in contemporary alphabet.
