i read a book in 2018-2019. i’m pretty certain it was published in the late 2000s, probably 2008 or 2009. i don’t remember the author or title at all, but i think the cover might’ve been a shade of sunset orange. the main character was a young boy in his early teens who moves to a small town. he lives in a very old house with only his dad, who might’ve been a plumber? i just know there was something in the plot about needing a plumber for their house or his dad being a plumber. he befriends another young boy around his age who has a treehouse in the woods, and they hang out there all the time. there was an incident in the 60s with a greyhound bus, where it crashed into something, like a car or another vehicle, and all the civilians in the bus died. the incident of the crash makes it into the newspaper, but by the time the boy moves into the town it’s mostly forgotten about. throughout the book it’s revealed that everyone living in the town are actually the ghosts of the victims from the bus crash in the 60s, including the boy with the treehouse. the boy and dad that move there aren’t ghosts though. also, i think the treehouse burns down as well. i’m pretty sure the way they describe the characters in their town is by giving the events leading up to the crash in the 60s. these are all the details i remember, if you have any questions let me know, i’ll try my best to answer.

How soon into the book does the reader find out about the bus crash?How far into the book does the reader find out that the people are ghosts?
i can’t remember exactly when we find out about the bus crash, i think the first chapter or very early on in the book is when it’s first talked about, since its a very important detail throughout the whole story. the reader finds out about the ghosts i’d say about midway to near the end of the book.
