Abby | 27 comments My goal for 2021 is 8 books. This is because I've been in a reading slump for about 4 years and need a small goal to rekindle my love for reading again. So far I've only read one book.

-Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo : Rated -5/5 Stars.
My new favorite book! I love the found family elements as well as the Heist plot going on. My two favorite tropes in one book and characters that I've grown to love and cheer for.

Leslie Good luck girl! You read one book! That's a good start! I'm kind of going through the same thing! I used to LOVE books as a kid. Keep doing what you're doing and don't let anything stop you! <3

Abby | 27 comments Thank you everyone for the support!! I started Poisoned Apples by Christine Heppermann and had to DNF it. (TW) It was so depressing and had far to many poems about eating disorders and body issues. I hated it and was super disappointed. I wanted a good poem book that I could love and annotate and just got a book that made me feel depressed. On that note, that definitely kept me from reading for a couple of months hence my month later post. I'm now going to try to read Seafire by Natalie C. Parker. I have high hopes for this and hope I make it though.

Abby | 27 comments Ok update, I am still reading "Seafire" and getting through it slowly (it is now being read accompanied by audiobook). I have started "Gmorning, Gnight! Little pep talks for me and you" by Lin-Manuel Miranda. I love it so far, its exactly what I had hoped "Poisoned Apples" (Mentioned Above) would be. I just adore that book so much. I have also started to read "Three Dark Crowns" by Kendare Blake. I have only read about a chapter but so far so good. Juggling 3 books is hard though so it might take me a while to finish this one.

Abby | 27 comments Ok I know I JUST updated but I finished the book by Lin-Manuel Miranda and it was everything i'd hoped for. I ended up reading it in chunks but it would be a better read if you read at least one poem a day. It will genuinely make your day better.

Leslie I’m glad you’re doing better with reading .Audiobooks really do help.

Abby | 27 comments Ok, I finished "Seafire" by Natalie C. Parker. It was an ok book. Not interesting enough for me to want to pursue the next in the series. The world building was one of my favorite parts. I have also finished "The girl from everywhere" by Heidi Heilic. It had such a good concept but i was frustrated by the execution. The plot confused me and I hated the ending. Not worth pursuing the next in the series in my opinion. I have also finished "A good girl's guide to murder" by Holly Jackson and it was a good read. Started slowly but picked up toward the end with a plot twist you won't see coming. I still haven't finished Three dark crowns, mostly because i'm reading it with my sister and i'm waiting for her to catch up.

To conclude I have about 1 more book til I read my goal of reading 8 books this year. Finding a group to read with has definitely helped and so has this discussion thing. Thank you to everyone who wished me luck. I'm almost there :D

Abby | 27 comments I DID IT GUYS!!!! I ended up finishing Three Dark Crowns without my sister because she told me straight up she wasn't going to finish. So with that, I have completed my goal of reading 8 books in 2021! Thank you so much for all your support and kind comments. Good luck to everyone else in the process of completing their challenge.
