How about River of Shadows: Eadweard Muybridge and the Technological Wild West by Rebecca Solnit for something completely different?
Let's see...
I'd like to read The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. Also, since the last poll showed that several members were interested in reading the The Autobiography of Malcolm X, I'd like to nominate it again.

I was 50:50 between The Magic Mountain and River of Shadows, so would be happy with The Magic Mountain too.
Mariella, Carlton - I do read the posts, but am so far behind in my reading this year I don't want to add. I still have The Three Musketeers and The Once and Future King stacked beside my bed.I am currently dipping into Little House in the Big Woods and The Essential Haiku: Versions of Basho, Buson, and Issa from time to time.
No worries 😊 and thanks for commenting. My wife and daughter loved the Little House series, so enjoy!
I'm in the same spot as Karen--I've had a lot of good intentions this year, but my reading has failed to keep up. I still have Desert Solitaire queued up!I have both Magic Mountain, and The Autobiography of Malcolm X on my shelves--I don't want to throw my support onto them, because I don't know if I'll be able to follow through, but I'd certainly try to get to them if they were picked.
My vote is for "The Magic Mountain". I own both the book and the Kindle version and it would be a good reason to dive in.
Thank you all for your comments!
@James, thank you for your support. Waiting for your vote in the upcoming poll! 😉 (You can always change your mind if you find something more interesting among the nominations.)
@Karen, @Bryan, I'm positive you'll be able to keep up!
@Kimberly, what a wonderful choice! I've just read the plot and it seems really interesting.
