I just finished it, I got the Animal Farm and 1984 book with both stories. I think both have themes and lessons that are more or less endlessly comparable to any "current" time. One theme, in both books, I really enjoyed and felt was specific to our time, was the use of statistics to compare the present to look better than the past. something I feel like is always happening because it is not something we would definitively know is happening.
I read this book two years ago, such a good book, and its events are similar to our reality nowadays. The book is deep and accurate. You will see yourself relating to the characters. It was suggested to me by a friend, and I enjoyed every single page, it was the first book I read by George Orwell and the opening book for other books by him.

Just recently read 1984 and was amazed at how it is still relatable today.Currently im reading H.G.Wells Utopian novel Men Like Gods and it is truly enlightening.
when I was younger around 12 - 13 my grandad had told me to read 1984, at the time I wasn't interested at all, and of course, because I was so young it was hard to understand. it was till I was 17 when I remembered the book and I read and come to this day I'm 19 I have read it a further 3 times. everyone is right it is so relatable to today. with this book you are warned, you learn and you realize.
I just finished Orwells "1984" and then when back to back with Huxley's "Brave New World". While I found 1984 to be much easier to follow and slightly more engaging, I was blown away at how closely Huxley's utopian or dystopian society (depending on how you look at it) resembles our own, despite being written 17ish years before 1984. Both are great reads and explore relevant nuances pertaining to our ever growing and changing society.
Stephen wrote: "Then i would definitely recommend you read H.G.Wells " Men Like Gods", as it inspired Huxley."Will definitely check it out! Thanks for the recommendation, I just finished Rands "The Fountainhead" and was looking for another book in the same lane.
And ofcourse Wells was taught under T.H.Huxley, friends and studied with Julian Huxley( Aldous,s father)

I just finished Dean Koontz's The Whispering Room. It was written in 2017 and gives you the "creeps" when you think about the vaccination that is "like being forced" on us today. Now talking about a creepy story.

Anyone notice how “liberty gin” was used to quell the raw nerves of the masses? Gin worked for a while but today the restless, irritable and discontent masses need something stronger. Weed is being legalized and soon the rest will follow. The war on drugs is either a lie or an excercise in futility. Read my book 2044 and decide...
