SOLVED. SCI-FI Discovery of new planet / coming of age [s]

I read this book about a year or so ago.

I would say the book is aimed at a YA,

The main character is a young girl (teenager?) who is on a newly discovered planet with her parents and an "uncle". Uncle is in quotes because he is actually a large carnivore (bear?). The group is attacked by animals native to the planet and the parents are killed. The "uncle" takes the girl back to his home planet where he formally adopts her in-front of his clan. During this process the matriarch of the clan is ousted. The discovery of the planet makes the girl a very wealthly individual since most of the shares go to her. She goes on to hire a staff and bodyguards. At point she is on earth and is arrested (for assault I believe). I can't remember how this ends or if it is the first in the series.

Any help would be appreciate but to be perfectly honest I will be very surprised if anyone is able to help, because if I remember correctly it was one of the million $1 kindle novels.
