7. The Man in the Wing Chair compares a marriage of mixed faiths to two people setting out on a journey together with different destinations in mind, one heading for St. Petersburg, the other for Tahiti. Does this comparison seem valid to you?

I tell them “Good luck!”

“Birds of a feather flock together.”

I think it's helpful, especially as he explains that he's unwilling to put himself in the position of seriously considering another alternative. And, as Horacio points out, it entails an entirely different view of marriage.
