I liked this book! Thought it was a fun teen-horror. I'm not a big fan of YA (not that there's anything wrong with it if you do, just a personal preference) but there was a lot to appreciate here. Loved the coupling at the end - definitely didn't see it coming!
I really liked the slasher vibe, but for the last two hours of the audiobook, I found it harder and harder to feel invested. Maybe because I didn’t really like any of the characters (even though the kiss at the end made me very happy) and wasn’t mourning any of their deaths… I liked the book overall but I must say I zoned out sometimes while listening to it. But it’s cool that YA horror exists! :)
I had a lot of fun with this, it was surprisingly gory for YA, although I feel YA Horror is just starting to really become a thing (before it was just Stine and Pike LOL). This felt like something I would have LOVED in movie form as a teenager. Simple, bloody, not too deep. I liked the generational aspect, it was easy enough to understand without it having to be over-explained. I also screamed with delight at the Cole/Rust kiss! The story wasn't centered around that, but I love that the author included it instead of going with a hetero pairing...it just shows that you can throw LGBT+ characters into a story that ISN'T about them being LGBT+
It was a 5/5 for me, it gave me exactly what I wanted in a fun YA Horror :)
