I am looking for a specific book I read a few years ago but cannot remember the name or author. It's an anthology connected by the theme of spirals. I believe there is a girl who gets trapped in a cave. She hallucinates spirals and shapes in the dark. And there is a hospital patient who is afraid of spirals, a doctor is trying to get him to go up a spiral staircase. It may be a YA book because I often looked in that section at the time. I'm sorry if I am not describing it well, I do not remember it well. The same author wrote a book where a man goes to an island and they plan to sacrifice him. Long ago either a king or his wife were killed by their people. The book is a bunch of separate stories of a man and a woman meeting each other and losing each other.
