Muadip | 9 comments I'm looking for fantasy books that give me the same feeling of "epicness" as some of the battles in "Words of Radiance", the end of "Oathbringer", The Lord Ruler (view spoiler), Sazed's (view spoiler)
or Taravangian/Dalinar interacting with (view spoiler). Just to name some examples.

Basically epic, cinematic scenes if that makes sense. Sanderson does it best from all books I've read so far. I’ve really enjoyed Sandersons action and stress induced scenes that have you clinging onto every word.

I already read most of Tolkien's, Sanderson's and Abercrombie's work. I disliked "Assassin's Apprentice".

Appreciate the help

Mikiway, please add a description of the books you're looking for to the header/ topic title. Assume most people are not familiar with the specific book you linked to in the header (e.g., Adult? fantasy with epic battles...). We close threads with vague headers.

Hannah | 47 comments Sanderson is the master of "epic" plotlines in my opinion, but here are some others that come to mind:
Robert Jackson Bennett's Divine Cities trilogy has similar dynamics of political thriller mixed with epic god-scale conflict. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Trudi Canavan - especially the Age of Five or Millennium's rule series. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

N. K. Jemisin's Broken Earth series: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1122...

Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory's Obsidian Mountain trilogy: https://www.goodreads.com/series/4036...

I'll try to post more as I think of them.

- The Black Company by Glen Cook
- Gardens of the Moon

Or if you are more into actionhero-oriented fantasy, try some Gemmel, like: Legend

Do you think the rest of Malazan would fit too?
