Hi!! I'm looking for a novel I read in my Junior's English Honors class, either in 2018 or 19. It's fiction, and it's about an old woman who has decided to commit suicide. I think it was because her son had died. She set herself a specific amount of days she wanted to wait until her death, it might have been 100, but I'm not too sure about that. In my mind, the setting is kind of a coastal area, I might just have imagined that, though. I do remember that the lady lives alone, but she has friends who visit her throughout the book. The ending was kind of open, it wasn't exactly said whether she did commit suicide or not. I remember the last chapter to be just a description of the day, the surroundings and the weather. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks!!
Was the setting contemporary or historical? Hopefully someone will recognise it, but could you get in touch with the school where you studied it and ask them? Since it was only a few years ago I'm sure they'd know.
Do you remember how her son died, or how long ago? Do you recall if the woman did anything particular or special during the hundred days? Anything about the cover? Do you recall how long the book was - short, medium, long, Stephen-King-brick ?
I really hope someone can help me. Thanks!!
