(I don't think there are any spoilers in my comment.) I believe I read this book in the early to mid-90s when I was reading a lot of YA thriller and mystery books. I feel like the book was a romance/thriller YA that I would have purchased from a book store. I remember the main characters were a teenage girl and a magical/monster-type boy character. The male character appears to watch the girl at night while she is sleeping but eventually, the girl sees the boy and they start meeting up at night. I am pretty sure the girl has a mark on her hand or shoulder (possibly in the shape of a crescent). The mark tingles or gets cold when certain types of monsters are around and she hears a chime or a sound when the boy is coming near her, almost like a warning. I think the girl starts to fall in love with the boy but also knows he is dangerous. I wish I could remember names but after trying to research on my own, the names I thought I knew do not help.

Thank you for the comment and the help. I think I found the books I was looking for forever! I believe it's the Midnight Series by Wolff Ryp. I must have read books 2 and 3 because I just finished reading book 1 The Temptation and it wasn't familiar. I started reading Book 2 The Thrill and it seems like it is close to what I remember from many years ago.
