Romance/Mystery - I read this book around 2000. I thought it was Mary Kay Andrews "Little Bitty Lies". It is very similar but a different book. I think the book is based in the south. The husband is missing people are looking for him. The husband is cheating his business partner (construction business?) and appears to have run off with another woman. The husband hid a lot of cash in his golf bag & the wife finds the cash while selling his stuff in a yard sale. The wife's mother is very against divorce but the wife eventually realizes she will have to file for divorce. The wife's bad boy/hot fling/one night stand from high school knocks on her door looking for the missing husband & keeps coming back. The wife's best friend from high school lives on the same street but never knew about the hot fling with the school bad boy. The wife and the hot fling go to the local make out point & she sees her husband's car. The wife drinks one night & the husband comes back home and beats her up.
Most of the book is spent trying to find the husband. Spoiler: The husband dies & the wife is suspected of killing him. At the funeral, the wife realizes her best friend's son looks a lot like her husband. Finds out the best friend and husband had a fling in high school. Best friends husband has no idea their son is not his.
