Eli | 2 comments Read within the last 5 years, but may have come out earlier. I think it is part of a series. The part I remember is not the most important part but is sticking in my mind! The main character has to plan a party and use a historical period - she does extensive research to find a time period where all of her guests will have an ancestor they can dress as but won't insult anyone. One of the guests helps nudge her to a good time period choice. There is magic involved. Lots of details about the party planning. A later scene involves her visiting someone she thought was an enemy in a green house type place on the palace grounds. I think this is a popular fantasy series but just can't quite get it!
