In Texas, May is a HUGE testing month in our public schools. How about a theme where a character will be tested in some manner. (i.e., written or oral exam, complete a quest/ task, sorted as in Divergent, etc.)
my birthday is in May, so, why not going on an ego trip and suggesting: read a book with either a cake, glasses, a present or a bouquet of flowers on the cover

May 5th is Cinco de Mayo. Read a book that is the 5th one in a series or the 5th standalone by any author.

May 6th is International No Diet Day...Read a book with a picture of a delicious dessert on the cover or is mentioned in the title.

The origins of Put a Pillow on Your Fridge Day are unknown, but common wisdom is that the holiday gives a modern day twist to the old tradition of putting linens in the pantry to bring luck. Why doing so will bring luck is anyone's guess.
How to Celebrate?
Put a pillow on your fridge to bring luck. Make sure you let your other family members know that you are celebrating the day lest they think you are turning the fridge into your bed.

We invite YOU to nominate a theme for next month.
Perhaps there's a holiday (major or obscure) you want to celebrate? Maybe you want to focus on a specific genre? Want to look for cover image or color? Focus on the author's initials? Whatever "theme" you can come up with is fair game.
ONE nomination per member
To encourage participation from more members, the person who nominated LAST month's winning theme cannot nominate this month. So, Book Concierge, you will *not* be able to submit a nomination (though you WILL be able to vote).
DEADLINE - 25 April 21 5p CST, or 5 nominations (whichever comes first)
Once the nominations are closed, we'll set up a poll for membership to vote on the theme for next month.
