Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 778 comments Darcy and Elizabeth: A Most Unlikely Couple

I have read all of Brenda Webb's stories - love them. I don't think it is this one but both are good books.

Elin Eriksen (vaarin) | 210 comments Thank you, Sheila!!!
It is Brenda Webbs: a most unlikely couple. I have looked at it but my poor review did not remind me of the book I searched for. I had to leaf through it to jog my memory. Phew, mystery solved :)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 778 comments Glad your mystery is solved, Elin.

No problem...glad to be of help.

Adele (delbert59) | 41 comments I wish I reviewed more often. It would help me when I go back looking for a certain book. Sometimes I don’t even remember a thing about the book even though I rated it and it shows as read in my feed

message 58: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 543 comments Reviewing definitely helps

abmom | 181 comments Guys! it's not fair. I'm trying so hard to make some dent in my TBR pile but you are describing so many interesting books that I don't know if I can really catch up any time soon.

message 60: by Adele (new)

Adele (delbert59) | 41 comments So true. I’ve added almost every book described here!

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 778 comments LOL - I do not think anyone "catches up" here. Authors just keep on writing new books. I have not read any from fanfiction or other unpublished sites in sooooo long! I don't even copy titles and save them any more as that list is out-of-sight.

message 62: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 543 comments ok, so here is another one-
At some point in the book they are at Pemberley (I think) and Col. F is trying to teach Elizabeth to ride, but she is scared and he isn't noticing, just pushing her. Darcy notices and says something for Col. F to back off. I think Col F is either engaged to or courting Elizabeth.

I remember the scene well, just not which book its in. Been going back through my 2020 reads but haven't come across it

And this has been an AMAZING year for Jaff publications.

message 64: by abmom (new)

abmom | 181 comments Yes. I agree with you. I can see a definite increase in some really incredible JAFF stories and authors in the recent years which makes our task really difficult because I really want to read every one of them but find that if I read too many stories close together stories sometimes blend together especially if you have the (un)fortunate luck of choosing stories with similar premises. And if I accidently peek into the fanfiction site, all is lost. It's really difficult to get out of their recommendation cycle. People don't really understand how difficult it is to be a reader ;-)

Lenora Robinson | 64 comments for every book i read I seem to add 3 to 5 more. but overall they are so good.

message 66: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 543 comments Yes! and add to that all the recommendations from other people's lists...

message 67: by abmom (new)

abmom | 181 comments can anyone tell me the name of the book in which Elizabeth disguises herself as a maid at Pemberley to investigate something for the Hills?

message 68: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 543 comments Elizabeth Bennet in Disguise: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

By Lillian Swift

message 69: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 543 comments Sorry can't figure out how to link it on my cell.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 778 comments If you have Kindle on your cell you should be able to type it in and download it.

message 72: by Linda (new)

Linda | 5 comments I read a book a while ago where Elizabeth and Darcy are both in London when Lydia runs away with Wickham. Elizabeth goes to Darcy's house alone, and begs him to help find them. He agrees, but only if she agrees to marry Darcy. In the end, they fall in love. I definitely read it on Kindle.

Also this one:
Mistress of Netherfield

Those aren't the one I'm thinking of. The story had Darcy finding Lydia and Wickham and arranging their marriage in exchange for Elizabeth marrying him.

Shifra ♕ (shifra98) | 24 comments Hi JAFF sleuths! I humbly come begging assistance on a case that requires the pros. While I have the name of the story, "Parson's Pleasure" by Malena, the issue lies with a dead link. I was wondering if anyone knew if this story had been posted elsewhere or maybe is now published under a different title? The premiss sounds quite fun:
‘A classic case of mistaken identity. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth first meet while each is taking a swim in a creek (both naked or nearly naked, I might add). An accident leaves Mr. Darcy unconscious and, later, without his memory. The Bennets are convinced that he is Mr. Collins, come to propose marriage to Elizabeth. Mr. Darcy, meanwhile, has no idea if he's Mr. Collins or not.’

The legend says it is possibly abandoned. I haven't read it but the ending is "to be continued"

Ah, yes I see the last entry is from 2011, that's a shame. Thank you for locating it, at least I am afforded some closure.

Adele (delbert59) | 41 comments I’m looking for a book where There is a FMS and D spends the evening of their wedding berating E with all the reasons he should not have married her. Basically all the Hunsford insults. Instead of getting mad E just takes the blows and agrees with him that she is not worthy.
It was probably a KU or FF

message 81: by abmom (new)

abmom | 181 comments Adele, I think the story you are looking for is colors by Laure001 https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12778960/0. It's a wonderful story about depression.

Did you ever find this story?

Unfortunately, no. I went back in my KU books that I borrowed over the years, and there are several that are no longer available or are not on Amazon any more. It is probably one of those.

Well, I for one would be interested if you do figure it out ;)
