A sweet and interesting read although I found the plot a bit far fetched...

Mrs Hills niece had gone missing from her work at Pemberley. Elizabeth set out for Derbyshire, impersonating a ladies maid for miss Darcy.
Darcy eventually came home and her "undercover" was blown. The first meeting was funny and the highlight of the book in addition to the second proposal. The rest was easily resolved, a bit too easy for my personal taste and I felt it lacked romance. A chaste read.

3.5* rounded up to 4.

Improbable

But very imaginative and entertaining. A maid's disappearance is a mystery Elizabeth Bennet cannot let stand, even if she disappeared in Derbyshire! A real page turner!

This was a very enjoyable and well written Pride and Prejudice Variation. I loved seeing how Elizabeth and Georgiana became friends so quickly even though Elizabeth was posing as Georgiana's ladies maid when they first met. Darcy's reaction to discovering Elizabeth at Pemberley was fun as well. The epilogue at the end was a good ending. I hope to read more by this author in the future.

Elizabeth Bennet in Disguise was an entertaining read with a new twist on getting Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy to their happily ever after.

When the Bennets’ maid tells Elizabeth that her niece has gone missing, Lizzy is determined to find out what happened. But after finding out the girl went missing from Pemberley, Mr. Darcy’s estate, Lizzy is apprehensive until she finds out Darcy isn’t in residence. Posing as a lady’s maid for Miss Darcy, Lizzy plans to get in, find the girl, and get out before Darcy returns but unfortunately her plan goes awry when Darcy returns unexpectedly.

The mystery of what happened to Hill’s niece was interesting despite its’ issues. Essentially no one is concerned with what happened to the girl which honestly baffled me. Everyone’s lack of concern hampered Lizzy’s investigation which made the book move a bit slowly at first. Also, I wasn’t a fan of how after Darcy returned, he basically took over Lizzy’s search. Thankfully though she does stand up to him for it, but she doesn’t regain full control. The location of the girl was plausible enough although I didn’t understand why no word was sent so everyone would know where she was.

I can’t attest to the accuracy of the characters in relation to their originals in Pride and Prejudice as I’ve never read the source novel, but I enjoyed the characters in this adaptation. I loved the friendship Lizzy developed with Miss Darcy and was happy with how many scenes we got of the duo. Lizzy and Darcy’s relationship was great barring a few minor issues and I liked the way the pair worked things out. One of my issues related to the characters was that I didn’t buy that everyone would just be fine with Lizzy’s deception after her ruse is discovered. I expected there to be consequences when she’s found out but there were basically none.

Overall despite its’ flaws, Elizabeth Bennet in Disguise was a quick read and I enjoyed it.

Not my cup of tea. ODC‘s reunion took too long and it rather seemed like Georgiana knew she‘s Elizabeth and wanted to reunited Elizabeth with Darcy.

Furthermore, I honestly don‘t like staff being informal.. and the constant use of ‚Lizzy‘. Why? Her name is Elizabeth, you can also call her by her christian name?
‚Lizzy did that‘ ‚Lizzy went there.‘ Is it so hard to change once in a while?

Otherwise, the mystery itself was fun to read. And well written.

A cute short story

The story begins with a missing girl, a relative of Mrs. Hill the Bennet family housekeeper. Elizabeth plans to find the missing girl and along the way finds friendship and love while at Pemberley. A cute short story with a happy ending.

Short and sweet with all the feels. I thoroughly enjoyed this variation. It was a new twist that allowed Darcy and Elizabeth a different way to connect. Loved it!!!
