It was a children's graphic novel/comic book series--I think there were at least three of them? The main character was a young female Old English Sheepdog, and I'm pretty sure her name was Sam/Samantha. She was grumpy and ungrateful. She was owned by a 11-ish girl. In one book they went camping (the girl, the dog, the parents, the girl's two(?) friends) and were investigating some spooky stuff and some suspicious scientists. I remember a lot of the colors in these as being very cool; blues and violets, possibly. These books would've been pretty new; they had a modern cartoon style, and they were new enough for only three to have been out when I was reading them four years ago.
