SOLVED. Juvenile fiction- story about a red headed girl with a single father. [s]

For years I’ve been trying to remember a book I read in 2008 when I was 13. I cannot for the love of all that is holy remember any other details other than that it was about a red headed girl, I think had a single father, and possibly had a cat named oatmeal. I apologize profusely for the vagueness and I hope one of you kind souls can help save me from yet another night of sleepless google searching for this dang book.
