You're the biggest Umberto Eco fan I've ever seen! (well, the only one, but I'm sure you're also the biggest!) Hope you looove this one, too. :)

message 268: by Dreamer (new)

Dreamer | 5128 comments @Riley

Aww, thank you so much! That's so sweet :) Although there are people out there who have read more books by him than I have. But I really hope I'll get to read all his books one day. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that I'll never be able to read them in the original, unless I learn Italian, which I doubt if I will (I'm not that good at languages)

message 269: by riley rue (new)

riley rue (rileyrue) | 508 comments That is a pity that you might not be able to read his books in the original language! Works are really well translated these days, but I really do feel like they can't help but lack things in the original language. Maybe one day, if you want to learn Italian, you can try his books out. It'd be a great motivator to learn Italian XD

message 270: by Dreamer (new)

Dreamer | 5128 comments Yeah, I agree. Translations can be wonderful, but they can never be as good as the original. But, you have a point, perhaps Umberto Eco will be the reason for me to learn Italian one day, who knows? :)
