The girl was a senior in high school and the guy was in college, I think. The girl's family was upper middle class. She eventually decided not to get married to this guy. There was maybe a character named Bronwyn or that was the authors name. It was maybe set in Michigan along the lake, or in a beachside town of some sort. I read it probably in 2012-2013 in paperback and it felt somewhat recent. There was something about someone staying on a couch? I think the textbooks on the cover were wrapped in paper and had handwritten labels in marker.
