The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Ok, so this revolves around Summer, and it's a really great book about friendship. The series is soooo good!

Counting by sevens is great! Along the same lines as that book is The Miscalculations Of Lightning Girl, but it is more of a school starting book than school ending book.

And the first Warriors book, Into The Wild, would be a good middle grade one, seeing as it takes place in summer (at least in the beginning)

The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl looks interesting, but because it's more of a "school starting" book, as you said, I think it would work better for a month like August.

Into the Wild could work. I'll add that one!
