Gary | 2 comments I read this book in the mid 90s (probably 96) when I was overseas but can't remember the title.

Specifics that I can remember (or think i remember):
The book's cover I believe has like part of the American flag and some type of money.
The plot centers on a kid that was kidnapped and i believe was held for ransom. For whatever reason "ransom" keeps popping into my mind as the title but I'm 99% sure that isn't correct ar least i haven't turned up anything with that yet.
Throughout the book from what i remember the time lines jumped between different characters for their point of view.
I think that the kid was taken out of the country and I THINK there was something to do with a teddybear and possibly money inside of it.
If the teddybear piece is correct I THINK there was something about it being in the overhead compartment on a plane.

Thanks in advance.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Was this for adults or teens?
Part of a series?
Who was the kid? Was the kid a politician's child? A boy or a girl?
Was it more of a suspense, drama, etc?
Time period story takes place?

Gary | 2 comments It was an adult book and it was not part of a series. I believe the kid was a younger kid (like maybe 6 through 10) and I think the person / parent was in a position of power but I don't specifically remember it being called out that he was a Senator or Congressman. The book seemed to be more suspense than drama as that it why I plowed through it in a couple of days. The time period would have been probably written as the time period it was published as it wasn't the 1800s or the 1940s or 50s and it definitely wasn't set in the future.

Thanks!
