Why would a full-length hardcover be listed as 1.6, which indicates a short or novella?

@Rivka well the hardcover is a collection of a mini series that takes place after book 1.5 (The Unkillables is also a mini series) but before book 2. Hope At World’s End isn’t considered to be the sequel to the original DCeased comic, that’s Dead Planet, so it wouldn’t be right to call it book 2 and so I assumed that makes Hope At World’s End book 1.6.

Also size is not always indicative of novella or short. After all book 8.5 in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series is more than 700 pages long!
And book 1.5 of the DCeased series is only slightly shorter (30 pages less) than Hope At World’s End.
Does that make sense?

If the part of the book that is part of the relevant series is not a short or novella, it should get a whole number, not a decimal. This can mean other later books need to get a different number.

@Rivka DCeased: Hope At World's End is a short. It's a limited series and this is the collected trade paperback of the limited comic book series. It should be listed as book 1.6

It is marketed as 8.5, and as a novella. The novella part is about 200 pages, (which is a great deal shorter than all of the other books in the series). The rest of the book is a series companion with guides and bonus content.
I don't know what that means it should be numbered on Goodreads, if someone else wanted to weigh in.

@Emily exactly, just like how DCeased Hope At World’s End is marketed as a short mini series that takes place in between book 1 and book 2, thus making it book 1.6.

In the book summary itself it says:
“ DCeased: Hope At World’s End, previously only available digitally, expands the world of that original DCeased series by filling in that story’s time jump”
The time jump occurs in book 2. Hence DCeased: Hope at World’s End takes place in between book 1 and 2 making it book 1.6 or 1.7 (it really doesn’t matter which, but it’s not book 2)

I don’t know how many more times or ways I can explain it😂 I think it makes sense though and it's nothing new so please could someone fulfil the request? Or at the very least just the first request which isn't a contended issue?
