Humans visiting a planet where the Savior had just been. Read in early 1960's.

When I was a kid, back in the early 60's, I remember my sister's and parents discussing a book or story about humans visiting another planet, where they just missed that planets version of Christ. I have never been able to find it since then. Can anyone help?

This could be the short story The Man, by Ray Bradbury.
This is found in his The Illustrated Man collection.
