This books was about a girl in high school. She was raped at a party. During the party she called 911 and everyone then began to hate her for ruining it and getting some of them arrested for underage drinking. She became mute afterwards. She is in an art class with a male teacher where they are assigned a topic for the year. Hers was "tree" she had a hard time with the marble blocks and ruined several. Half way through the book she attempts to talk to her former best friend about it through passing notes in study hall. It goes well until she reveals who raped her then her friend accuses her of lying, i believe it was the friends boyfriend. He corners her in a closet one day and tries to rape her again. She screams, the first time she has made a sound in almost a year, the art teacher saves her. Then end of the book is her sitting in his class room saying that she wants to talk about what happened to her.
