There is a man with a daughter named some variation of Oceana and maybe a son. He moved away from the city (I think) to get away from work. The guy meets the main character and they fall in love. In the last couple of chapters, the man gets into a car accident and loses his memory. He ends up never getting it back and the girl decides it's better for her to let go of him. He and the kid/kids return to their previous lives in the city. In the epilogue years later, this guy goes up to the attic and finds a box full of old mementos from his past relationship, specifically the girl's diary/ journal. Suddenly he remembers everything and goes to get the girl back. Then they lived happily ever after.
I read this 3-5 years ago It was really popular at the time The title had "jerk" in it (something like "Loving Mr. Jerkface" or "Game on Jerk") The author ended up getting hacked and the person deleted all of her stories, so she decided not to reupload her works. Also, I thought a while ago somebody had been looking for this same story and they found it but I couldn't find that discussion anywhere on Goodreads
