I have listened to many books that needed this, either mispronunciations or missed emphasis.

I too have listened to many books needing this.

Especially when a word is mispronounced to such an extent it sounds more like another word than the word it is.

"Stairs" pronounced "stars" comes to mind. Narrator wasn't doing accent, seems that's just the way they pronounced the word. Main setting was a 2 or 3 story building. People stopped on the stars to talk, ran up the stars, sat on the stars...
