This central island is the "lesser" of the other four because they are of two elements, not just one. Those born on the cusp have been seen as "impure" and have been often looked down upon.

That actually makes sense. There would be a lot of beings on Ophiuchus, as it is where anyone, anyone, on a cusp is sent. It would a ton for just one person. Plus the rules on Ophiuchus would work differently, as these folks tend to detest those of the pure elements.

Cusp Element-related manipulations
Some have the ability to manipulate their corresponding
Possible element combinations:
Fire + Earth = Lava/Magma, Crystals that grow in heat, Rocks (Does not create crystals of any sort)
Earth + Air = Sand
Air + Water = Ice, Fog
Water + Fire = Hot water
(I'm always willing to hear suggestions as long as it the combination! And no, Fire+Air and Earth+Water will not be happening. There are no cusps that can allow that.)
If one masters their combined manipulation (which is rare, (view spoiler)), they could try to expand upon it, such as:
Ice - Snow, Hail (Snow would be the hardest of the two)
Fog - Easy escape tactic, Makes hide & seek ten times more interesting
Sand - Sandstorms, Sandcastle winner 80% of the time
Crystals - PLEASE BE CAREFUL AROUND TAYAH AMAREA, SHE LOVES SHINY THINGS
Hot water - Vaporizing
