YA Fiction opens with 2 girls discussing a creature (possibly a vampire or gargoyle) that lives at the top of the hill above city. One of them goes up the hill and into the stone building to find the creature. Possibly a series. SPOILER, ends with girl breaking a curse and falling in love with creature. They marry (?) and have one night together and then he has to leave her. Read 2002-2007?
