Elise warns Lucy that the best is yet to come, implying something big is on the horizon and she won’t survive in. Nicole Rollins gives an ominous point of view in the epilogue, indicating there’s another leak in the DEA and how she won’t ever give up the name or serve her sentence.

Any ideas as to what’s to come?

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I don't know what Tobias could be up to. Obviously he has a bigger plan that just taking over the Sanchez/Trejo operation.

I thought and thought about who could be the leak in the DEA and/or FBI. There really aren't very many characters to choose from. At the DEA we have Brad Donnelly's boss (Samantha Archer). Do we know any other DEA characters? At the FBI, I don't think it would be Nate or Kenzie. Ryan was on my suspect list in the last book. Maybe it's him. I don't think it is Juan. What about Juan's boss (I can't remember his name either)? I don't think it is Barry. He would have done a better job at steering Lucy in the wrong direction if it is him.

Here are the law enforcement characters in San Antonio:

Ryan Quiroz: FBI agent and Lucy’s partner in San Antonio.
Nate Dunning: FBI agent in San Antonio who’s become Sean’s good friend. He’s also a rookie.
MacKenzie (Kenzie) Malone: FBI agent in San Antonio.
Zach Charles: FBI analyst.
Barry Crawford: FBI special agent in San Antonio.
Juan Casilla: FBI supervisory special agent and Lucy’s supervisor.
Nita Casilla: Juan’s wife who’s pregnant. They have five children.
Abigail Durant: Assistant special agent in charge, Juan’s boss.
Ritz Naygrow: FBI special agent in charge of the San Antonio office.
Logan Dunbar: Supervisory special agent, Washington DC office.
Brad Donnelly: DEA supervisory agent.
Jerome (Jerry) Fielding: DEA liaison to the SAPD.
Nicole Rollins: Former DEA agent and Brad’s partner. She’s in jail waiting trial for being the leak to the drug cartel.
Samantha Archer: DEA assistant director in charge of the San Antonio office, Brad’s boss.
Leo Proctor: SWAT team leader.
Tia Mancini: SAPD detective.

I had Ryan and Juan as potential suspects in the last book. I still have them in the back of my mind. Sam Archer just doesn’t make sense but she’s still a possibility. It could be Ritz.

I just don’t know.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments For some reason, I don't think it will be Juan. I don't have any solid reason...it just doesn't feel right to me.

My money is on Ryan Quiroz (I hope I'm wrong) or Ritz Naygrow. I think its someone high up. Sam Archer could also be in the running.

I REALLY don’t want it to be Juan. I have Ryan higher on my list. No real reason, just a gut choice.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments If we are giving best guesses, mine is Zach Charles, FBI analyst, or a secretary/clerk type person.

Uh, oh. He crossed my mind a couple of times but I eliminated him for a reason I can no longer recall.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments He did background stuff, but had access to all the data on the ops. I don't really remember him, but he was kinda in the background.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments I hope it's not Ryan; I can't remember enough to speculate on who it might be.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Anita, Zach crossed my mind as well. I asks a lot of questions. It felt like he was fishing for information.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I don't think it can be Ryan. Kane would know if it was him.

My mind keeps going to Dunbar. He was close to the the land deals. His undercover work would give him information about the key players and allow him to keep an eye on them through the wiretaps. As an FBI agent he could figure out who he could get as informants.

My second choice is Ritz for the same reason as Dunbar. I can't allow myself to believe it is Ryan. Didn't Sean do a deep search on him in the previous book?
