When Stacey explores Justin Reynold’s life, she discovers his extreme racist lifestyle but fails to advise the team of the degree to which she’s continuing to investigate. What role did all of them play in reinforcing her decision (Kim, Bryant & Dawson)? Did you understand her point of view? At what point did you think she carried it out too long on her own?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I think I covered this in the previous question. Stacey didn't have the trust with the other team members especially Kev Dawson and she kept her own issues well hidden. I liked getting to know Stacey better as a character and hopefully she will be able to put some of those insecurities to bed after what happened. Lucky she survived it really to live another day and I'm thinking it will bond the team together in a positive way now that a lot of the racial issues have been brought out in the open.

Here’s where I didn’t understand why she didn’t begin sharing her findings with Bryant and Dawson. This was a whole new tangent to Justin’s life and she was aware of similarities in the assaults they were pursuing. I’m sure she was trying to prove herself but this was so far out of range for her to be on her own.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I missed this question.

I agree Jonetta. At this point, the Stacey we knew before would have recognized the similarities and talked to the team.

I don't know if she was trying to prove herself, as much as she was trying to find some good in Justin to share with his mother. What started as Stacey understanding a person thinking the only solution was suicide turns into disgust. I think she was trying to clean some of the disgust.

Good point. Instead she found herself mired in quicksand.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with Sharon, but I also think Stacey was really hurt by Bryant and Dawson and their attitude toward her. At the point when she was tempted to call Kim - that was when she should have let her know what was going on. However, if Bryant and Dawson had been more up front with her about what they were working on, she might have been more apt to share with them at that point also.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Everyone has made some good points. I believe Stacey was hurt by Bryant and Dawson's attitude and she was trying to prove herself. They really weren't giving her anything to do to help their case, so she probably felt that she was on her own with the case. At a minimum she should have notified Kim about what she was doing.

Everybody stayed in their traditional “lanes,” even though they’d been asked to do something different, including Stacey. This was just a disaster.
