What if Meg had to become a god?

After Hercules proves he's a true hero and regains his godship, all seems right in the world. That is, until Zeus tells Meg that she can't be with Hercules because she's, well, mortal. Luckily, Hera has a solution, offering Meg a chance to prove herself worthy of a spot on Mt. Olympus--as a god. All Meg has to do is complete a mysterious quest.

The mission? Oh, just to rescue her ex's current wife from the Underworld. The ex-boyfriend she saved by selling her soul to Hades. The ex-boyfriend who immediately moved on to someone else while she was stuck in the Underworld. Can Meg put her past behind her and use her quick-wit to defeat monsters and gods alike, including the nefarious Hades? Will she finally figure out her place and contribution to the world? Or will her fear of commitment have her running away from an eternity of godhood with Herc?

Starting this one now. I honestly don't think I've ever watched Hercules, so maybe I'll enjoy this because I won't know what parts or exactly the same and what parts are new lol

I haven't enjoyed the last couple I've read, so I'm hoping I don't hate this one

I finished! I gave it 3 stars overall.

I enjoyed this Twisted Tale where Meg, Hercules's girlfriend, gets a chance to go on a quest and become a God so she can stay with Hercules forever. She works with Pegasus and Phil the Seder, and deals with all the great Greek Gods - Zeus, Hera, Hades, Aphrodite, Persephone, Athena and of course Hercules. It was a fun addition to the story of Hercules.

I honestly feel like these books should be marketed as middle grade more than YA. I'm constantly disappointed in these, but. I don't think I would be if this was intended for younger readers

I feel the same. Theyre written like theyre for kids, with shallow characters and a simple plot. But even then, i read better middle grade books than these when i was younger

"Good luck, babe! You're going to need it." Youre trying to tell me Hades used the word babe back in ancient times? I dont buy it

"Or someone trying to sat you cant be together because you live in different zip codes" Did Greece have zip codes...?

It just felt so juvenile and basic, it brought nothing new to the table. Events were skipped over so quickly, yet the plot still dragged on somehow. Im just happy this is over (hide spoiler)]
