Team Sherlock
Team Watson is getting really close to solving their code. What do you say, ladies? Can we pick up the pace a bit and surge ahead?
Finished my book for the sixth guess:

Title: Black
Date Finished: 4/7/15

I'm still reading From the Start, which I'm really enjoying, but I started a different book that would work for yellow and it turned out to be very quick read so I'm switching my book. Will post it next. :)

I think we can! We are down to one book and then we can post! :D

And I just finished! Five stars. Fun book that has great depth and quirky characters.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Great job, Andrea! I'm so glad that you loved your book! I'm 5% from finishing it and am loving it too. :)
Oh, I'm glad you're reading Melissa's book too. And I'm even happier that you're loving it! She's got such a fun style of storytelling, doesn't she?And I agree: Hope we get something really good this time!
Yes she does! I'm planning on reading her previous books sometime, hopefully this spring, since I've never read them.
Okay, we got 1 black and 3 whites so we know that Brown isn't the one that's duplicated. Anyone have an idea what should be our next guess?
I hope you'll really love them! What do we want to do for our next guess?
I'm hoping to read
for the next round. Will this work for one of the spots?
Thanks! Ihope I do too. :)
It would work for either of the B's, since the main character is Mellie Blake.

Awesome. May I start it now, or do I have to wait until we decide what we're guessing? I can't remember...
One final note on Melissa Tagg... I really adored her book Here to Stay. It's my favorite so far, with From the Start coming in at a close second.
We have to decide on a guess and then once you've chosen a color you can start :)
Thanks for letting me know your favorite Melissa Tagg book, hopefully I'll enjoy them just as much :)

So, I was thinking we could do one of the following for our guess:
If YELLOW is in the correct spot:
ORANGE, YELLOW, BROWN, YELLOW, BLACK
YELLOW, YELLOW, BROWN, BLACK, ORANGE
YELLOW, YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK
ORANGE, YELLOW, BROWN, BLACK, BLACK
If BLACK is in the correct spot:
BLACK, BROWN, BLACK, ORANGE, YELLOW
BLACK, BROWN, BLACK, YELLOW, ORANGE
If ORANGE is in the correct spot:
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, ORANGE
ORANGE, BROWN, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLACK
ORANGE, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, YELLOW
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, BLACK
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLACK
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, YELLOW
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, ORANGE, BLACK
The only thing I know from looking at the spreadsheet is that Brown isn't the color that was in the correct spot. Because if it was, the second spot would need a different color and all the other options have been in it already and we've only gotten white pegs.
Any preference to which one we try next?
If YELLOW is in the correct spot:
ORANGE, YELLOW, BROWN, YELLOW, BLACK
YELLOW, YELLOW, BROWN, BLACK, ORANGE
YELLOW, YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK
ORANGE, YELLOW, BROWN, BLACK, BLACK
If BLACK is in the correct spot:
BLACK, BROWN, BLACK, ORANGE, YELLOW
BLACK, BROWN, BLACK, YELLOW, ORANGE
If ORANGE is in the correct spot:
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, ORANGE
ORANGE, BROWN, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLACK
ORANGE, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, YELLOW
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, BLACK
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLACK
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, BLACK, YELLOW
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, ORANGE, BLACK

Looks like there's a lot more options if the orange is in the right spot. What if we worked on the other options before jumping into that list?
Okay, how about: BLACK, BROWN, BLACK, YELLOW, ORANGE?

Sounds good to me, but we should probably let the other ladies chime in before deciding for certain. I'll check in tomorrow to see when I may start Sarah Sundin's With Every Letter.
I'll be reading a book that will work for either Black or Brown just not sure which one yet, I'll let you know when I decide!
Megan I have a question about novella collections. If I read
and the Kristin Billerbeck novella specifically (Because her last name starts with B), can I just read that novella or do I have to read the entire book? I have a kindle copy of the book and it does not list how many pages each of the novellas are, but according to Amazon the paperback copy is 432 pages so since there are four novellas I'm assuming that breaks down to around one hundred pages each. Either way is fine, I just wondered! :)
Caitlyn - The Kindle copy of Small Town, Big Dreams by Kristin Billerbeck is listed on Amazon as having 128 pages.
I'm seeing lots of B books. Is it still okay for me to read With Every Letter by Sarah Sundin (main character's last name starts with B)? Are we going to have the post with our chosen books this time? Just checking.
Andrea - I'm sure you can. Caitlyn's book works for black, mine works for brown. Since Kimberly is reading a book for orange, that leaves black and yellow.

Rita is correct! Since the novella meets the minimum page requirement, you can just read that one :)

Since we've decided on a guess and you've selected a color - yes! :)

Absolutely! I've made a tracking post above (edited message 222) and I'm perfectly fine with taking the yellow - it's actually the color I was hoping to get :)

Well, that worked out perfectly, then, didn't it? Glad you got the color you wanted, Megan!I just finished reading another influencer book, so I'm starting With Every Letter now.
Great job, Caitlyn! I'm several chapters into mine now and am loving it. Hoping to have more time to read tomorrow, but we'll see how my schedule goes. This week is a busy one at work for me. How's everyone else coming along?
Team Watson just solved their code. Do we want to continue and see if we can solve our code? It's going to be a little bit until we have another team challenge, May at the earliest, so we could possibly solve it if we wanted to try.
Yes please! This game is super fun. I'm getting close to halfway done with my book. Will have lots more time this weekend to finish it.
I completely understand. Hope it's a good kind of busy Kimberly :)
I'm so glad that both of you want to continue! I'm fine with reading an extra color for us, as long as Rita still wants to continue. Hopefully she does :)
