Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments How is everyone else coming along this week? I noticed a couple other ladies are done already. That means we've only got two more to go before we can see how many whites are on our board.

Hope y'all are enjoying your books.

Great job Andrea and Rita!

Just submitted our complete guess! Can hardly wait to see what we get :)

message 106: by Rita (new)

Rita | 4895 comments
We received the answer to our third guess....no white!

We now know there are at least three colors. If we all read a book for red, and there are no reds, we will be able to eliminate another color. If there are reds, we will know that we are only working with three colors, and could eliminate the last location for red.

What do you all think?

message 107: by Rita (new)

Rita | 4895 comments
After more consideration, I was thinking that since there can't be any more than three reds in total, perhaps three people should read a book for red and two should read a book for white.

message 108: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Just wondering, why read more books for white? Is that just to see how many reds there are? If so, I'm cool with that. Let me look at my current book options and get back to you.

message 109: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I have this one next up on my queue: Three Little Words (Walker Family, #0.5) by Melissa Tagg

The main guy is Seth Walker.
The cover features a red t-shirt.

So my book can work for either color. Put me in for whichever color is needed.

Andrea wrote: "Just wondering, why read more books for white? Is that just to see how many reds there are? If so, I'm cool with that. Let me look at my current book options and get back to you."

We would be using white (knowing there are no whites and there can be no more than three reds) just to fill up the extra two spaces. In that way, we can either eliminate the color red altogether or be closer to knowing its location/locations. Does that make sense?

message 111: by Rita (new)

Rita | 4895 comments I have a book I can read for red.

Megan (celtic_girl) | 6323 comments Mod
Sounds like a good idea! I have a feeling that there will be no reds, and if that's the case at least then we can eliminate it and figure out which of the other colors are in the code :)

I'll post a comment for us to put our color choices, just let me know what color you prefer and I'll put you in for it. :)

message 115: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Yes, Rita, that makes sense. It's what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure I was understanding the logic correctly.

Megan, put me in for whichever color is left at the end, since my book works for both. Thanks!

message 116: by Rita (new)

Rita | 4895 comments I'm reading In the Still of the Night by Deborah Raney by Deborah Raney (Author works for red)

Added everyone's preference to the list.

I'll take red and will be reading Burn Out (Burn Out, #1) by Kristi Helvig - main character is Tora Reynolds. Andrea, I put you down for WHITE, but if Kimberly prefers that color I'll switch you to RED since your book works for both colors. :)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Megan, is it okay for two of us to read the same book for this round? I hope so, but I can switch if I need to. I haven't had a chance to begin it yet.

message 124: by Rita (new)

Rita | 4895 comments Andrea, all of us could read the same book if we wanted.

message 125: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Okay, cool. I didn't remember seeing that in the rules anywhere but thought I'd check. Glad I don't have to search for another book yet. Thanks, Rita! Was this the first of Melissa Tagg's books for you?

Megan, thank you! How are you enjoying your book?

I enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as I hoped, but it was still pretty good and I'll probably read the sequel sometime.

message 134: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sorry it didn't hold up to your expectations. Disappointing when that happens. Hopefully the next one will rise to the challenge.

I'm three chapters (21%) into mine and enjoying it. Won't take me but a couple more evenings to finish it. Sorry if I'm holding up the guess this time. Maybe my work schedule won't be so time consuming next round.

Megan (celtic_girl) | 6323 comments Mod
So now we know that we have four colors, one of which is duplicated. I'm not sure what our strategy for the next guess should be. Should we go with one color (such as blue) or try and guess what the four colors could be with a color we know isn't in the code (white/red)?

message 144: by Andrea (last edited Mar 22, 2015 11:04PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I'm not sure. Here's what's on my reading list these days. Will one of these work for whichever color(s) we do next?

When God Writes Your Love Story by Eric Ludy Teen Mom You Re Stronger Than You Think by Tricia Goyer From the Start (Walker Family, #1) by Melissa Tagg Jennifer An O'Malley Love Story by Dee Henderson Believing God by Beth Moore

Do our books have to be fictional? I've got a few nonfiction titles listed here, as I'm sure you noticed.

message 145: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments Here are my next books to read. Let me know which ones work:
Gatehaven by Molly Noble Bull Fisher of Men by Pam Rhodes Temperance's Trial Part 1 of the Virtues and Valor Series by Hallee Bridgeman The Last Queen of Sheba by Jill Francis Hudson Trading Secrets by Melody Carlson

message 146: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Santi | 811 comments I have at least one book that would work for each color so I would be fine with doing whatever. I was thinking it might be a good idea if we all read a book for the same color again. But I have no idea what color that should be! Orange?

Andrea, I'm not sure yet what color the team will be doing, but From the Start should work for either yellow(cover) or green (main male character's last name) and Jennifer should work for Orange (main female character's last name) beyond that I'm not sure, but I hope this helps! :)

Kimberly, I don't know yet what color(s) the team will be going with but Gatehaven would definitely work for green, Temperance's Trial should work for any of the three B's. Black, Blue, or Brown because of the author's last name and it should also work for green because of the main character's last name.
Hope this helps! :)

Rita | 4895 comments
I'm not sure how we should do it this time. Since we know that only one of the remaining colors is duplicated, we could choose one color for two of us to read, and the other three could read a book for either red or white. We could also place one of the new color chosen in the same position as before, knowing we would only get a white peg for it. If we get two white pegs, we'll know that two of the remaining three locations are correct. If we happen to get a black peg, we'll know the correct location for one color. If we get one white peg and one black peg, we'll have more work to do. LOL

message 150: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Lots of great ideas being tossed out. I'm up for whatever. Just let me know the color I need to read, and I'll get started on my book.
