For the first part, great! With The Foxe & the Hound, we are done with prompt#3.

Second part: Sorry Alyana, I didn’t get the question, but I will still try to explain how bonus prompts work. We have 3 bonus prompts, 1 each fir solos, duets and trios categories. For each of the bonus prompts, we have to 3 books. Now for bonus prompts 1 and 2, we cannot repeat prompts i.e. each member has to fulfil a different solo/duet prompt. However for bonus prompt 3, multiple readers can fulfil the same trio prompt.

Also, one cannot repeat books for different prompts, however, two different readers can read the same book for a different prompt.

Sorry for the confusion Trisha, I get it now. That's all the books I've read that can fit the other prompts needed and I don't think I can finish a book today (even a short one, forgive me!)

Alyana and Trisha, sorry for gatecrashing your conversation... but I'm still a bit confused. Why can't Alyana use this book:
2 books with 25,000+ ratings each on Goodreads.
---> Dad Is Fat
for bonus prompt#2 (the one for duets)? Have all three spots in that one been filled too? Just asking because I might have something for bonus prompt #2 as well...

Oh, you don’t have to! No one has to read more books! Please don’t pressurise yourself. This is just a fun challenge, we are supposed to have fun! Besides you have read enough additional books that fulfil so many bonus prompts. 😊

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments My bad, Angie & Alyana! I thought 25k ratings prompt was a solo, darn! It’s a duet! Yes, that can be counted! Angie, you’re a saviour! Please forgive me for my mess up!

message 356: by Karin (last edited Apr 07, 2021 07:40AM) (new)

Karin | 252 comments Okay, I read a book for the 25 prompt yesterday BUT it can count for one of the others due to the fact thatare two people reading together (parent and child), and I will see what else.

I was off yesterday, got that book before I realized Shari had the other task, do have some of my homeschool records after all (whew!), read Anne of Green Gables for a different challenge of mine so was all set for 2012.

I'll take a look at what else I can finish today that will count or that I have read that wasn't used that will count after I finish updating.

Karin | 252 comments I am in a bit of a muddle as I am short on time this morning. Trisha--could you update your things on the spreadsheet before you go to bed tonight? Could you use that book for 25 or more years?

Angie, could you mark your completed tasks on the spreadsheet if you finish between now and 5 pm Eastern Daylight Time as co-captain?

Everyone else, please put what you have finished here and I will fix this later today as well as tomorrow. I have to work this afternoon.

I have marked one of the three compete for bonus task 2. I will now look at what I can finish today and mark it assigned on the planning sheet so people can see. I have 3 ptint books going PLUS a really fast book on my kindle I can easily read today.

Karin | 252 comments What I have that I can use--let me know if one of these is already being read or finished before 5 pm tonight--I'll be checking in as soon as I get home from work and will read while I eat supper and through the evening since it's Wed and I have nothing planned for tonight. I will read one of the following during lunch today.

Also, could you put the tasks in bold so I can easily spot them in this flurry? If you don't know how and can't click on the "some html is okay" that shows up on the desktop version just above the text box, I'll show you how BUT remove the spaces in between the < >--it won't show if I don't add spaces.

< b> your text here < /b>

A book with a title of at least 25 characters which is a duet. Can I do two duets if they are different tasks?

A book I wish I'd read at 25 (The first time around it was one I'd have recommended to myself, but this one is one I know I'd have really liked at 25 AND it was published in the 1950s--I am half way through it and could finish it today).

I can EASILY read for a book with an author who has written more than 25 books OR for a series with 12+ books and probably more--they are long enough, quick and fun--I can probably fill the last two today if need be. When I check in later I will see where you all are.

ONE LAST SPOT REMAINING FOR A DUET PROMPT!!

message 362: by Trisha (last edited Apr 07, 2021 08:45AM) (new)

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments NEW POST!!

Karin, we have one last spot remaining for a duet prompt, you can read to fulfil it. As I understand from your post, you have two books available for 'reading together' and '25 characters minimum' prompts, please read the shorter one and we will be done with the bonus prompts!!

I've summarized all the books above for your reference. These have also been updated onto the spreadsheet - you are free to make any changes you wish. If there's anything else, please let me know.

Thank you Trisha for that handy summary! I'm sure Karin will appreciate it.

Angie | 86 comments update to Trisha's message No 389

I have finished a short book that fits the last remaining task for the bonus prompts.

Read 3 books for any of the 2-book tasks (no repeating prompts)
*read a book published in 2012
---> The Little One
[alternatively this can also be used for " a book starting with "L"]

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments Angie, you were talking about one of your read books that could qualify for a duet, right? If you’ve already read it, we can mark all the bonus prompts complete.

Yes, just did that. ;-)

ETA: Do I need to report over on the other thread that we have finished the bonus prompts too, or can it wait until Karin logs on again?

message 367: by Trisha (new)

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments I would say post in the central thread so that we can record which team finished first.
