My partner read a book in year 7 (2013) & has recently been trying to find it. It was set in England which had ran out of money or something along those lines. The main character was a male child with a mother, brother & step father. The boys & their step father ran away to France to escape England whilst the mother stayed behind. Sorry it’s very vague & I understand if it gets deleted but we’ve been racking our brains for a while now & id very much like to find it to get some peace lol.
The book was read for an English class so could be a lot older than 2013
