Weird question

I just realised that there are two prompts that my brain merged as one.

Can someone please explain the difference between a book that features 3 generations and a book that has a family tree?

Maybe it’s me and I just don’t get the nuance.

The family tree is like the map prompt from last year. There will be a family tree drawn somewhere in the book, usually at the front. The 3 generations has 3 characters that are of different generations.
