A Return to Movie Theatres- What have you missed?

I miss the reclining chairs and of course the extra butter popcorn!!!

Since I am in Ohio I actually was able to see a movie last weekend. This was the first movie I'd seen at a theater in quite a long time. We saw "Raya and the Last Dragon" the new Disney movie. It was really good actually!
I actually felt like the movie theater was very safe. It was reserved seating and all the seats were spaced far apart and many seats were blocked off to provide social distance. You had to order the tickets, drinks, and popcorn in advance and you picked it all up from a pick-up station without having to interact with anyone (Besides the ticket-taker who was behind glass). So overall I felt like it was a pretty safe experience (much much safer than going to the grocery store, honestly).
I'm looking forward to the return to movie theaters! Though I know the movie theater industry has taken a catastrophic hit the past year with all the closures and the studios releasing movies on streaming, so I hope that they'll continue to stay open indefinitely! I very much prefer seeing movies in theaters than streaming. It's just overall a much more exciting experience.

Hi Colton,
This is good news! Thanks for sharing the theatre experience in Ohio. It seems as if they have a good plan to make everyone feel safe.
Yes, it will be interesting to see how much they will open up. Streaming is with us I think going forward. I would think for big, blockbuster movies, they will make it to the movie theatres, i.e. Star Wars, Marvel, etc.
I heard Raya and the Last Dragon was good. That's nice that you were able to see it in the theatre and with snacks too!
Let us know if you get to see more movies.
Have a good day.

Hi Terri,
Yes, I also love going to the movies by myself. No stress, just get our snacks and enjoy the movie. The reclining chairs! Those are always so comfortable. People had mixed feelings on Cats, but I enjoyed it. I love the broadway show, so I knew I would like the movie version. The music was great.
I missed going to the movies this last November/December. For me, something about going to the movies during the holidays. It's a good feeling to watch a movie with family.
Since COVID, I have been watching movies on T.V., DVDs, etc. I hope to return to the movie theatre someday. I miss that popcorn!
Let us know what other movies you are watching.
Have a good day.

Since the pandemic, most major movie theatres have been closed, with some already reopening slowly. With the acceleration of COVID vaccinations, there is anticipation that some more may reopen in the near future. The movie experience will likely be very different, with safety restrictions in place.
I was remembering the last movies I had seen at a theatre, there were three, "Little Women" "Star Wars-The Rise of Skywalker and "Cats" in December 2019.
I'm not sure how soon I will return to a movie theatre this year, but I do know what I have missed about the movie-going experience. I miss going see a movie with family, the movie previews, the anticipation of the movie right before it starts and of course the snacks.
What have you missed about the movie theatre experience? Do you remember the last movie(s) you saw at a movie theatre?
Have a good day.
