Here is your last task!Task 25 - LAST TASK - Read a book with a 9 in the initial publication date.
Books selected for this task need to have a 9 in the initial publication date - date or year, do not convert month to a number. For example, an initial publication date of November 19, 2020 or May 15, 2019 would work, but September 5, 2020 would not. Make sure you use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. Please include the initial publication date in your completion posts.
There is no need to post completion of this task in the Q&A thread, I will be checking all the team threads at the end of the challenge. 😊
Is there a last task adjustment for this challenge or am i making that up?I thought we could read as many books that fit the task for extra points.
Yes, that's right...we keep reading as many as we can get through, and the number of books read this last task is used as a tie-breaker whenever multiple teams have completed the same number of tasks. Kat posted about it in the Q&A thread.

With the challenge ending on Tuesday, May 11th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Sunday, May 9th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️
Ok, cool. So basically anything first published in 2019 would be fine then. That's not too bad. I still need to get something that overlaps with PTP, so I was hoping this last one wasn't going to be too crazy 🤣
Found something on my eReader initially published in 2019 that I didn't have marked as TBR yet! I had quite a few 2019, but I usually tag them here first 🤣So I'll start with

They were all so long though, I decided I'd try to find some shorter ones...

Review:
Man, I just love a good Petrova love story. This totally has everything that I love about her books. Great characters, great relationship building, great steam, and angst that feels believable and just makes everything feel perfect when you get to the end.
I was a little worried about how the heroine would play out. Usually, actress characters in romances are snotty and high-strung, and the hero has to smash them back down to Earth. But Bellarose was wonderful right from the start. Down to Earth and strong. I like my heroines like this. And King was kind of a moron sometimes, but I'll forgive him since he doesn't spend much time around other people 🤣. Who doesn't love a gruff, loner, tough-guy who comes good?
Ok, yup that did it! I figured I'd give it a last shot, haha.If you guys have trouble posting, don't try to do the bolds texts or whatever. Seems that's what spitting it out!

Well, here's a weird one. I was able to add the link for Chan's book, but when I tried to add Liz's third one, it got stuck 🤔. What the heck is the difference 🤣?
It's all weird. Fortunately not being able to update the tracking post won't affect anything for the end of the challenge though...we don't have to report in our completion since Kat will be checking every team thread. Sure glad you figured out that it's the formatting though, Courtney...I have 2 more books to post (once I finish the last one in an hour or two) and I would have gone nuts trying to get them posted!

You definitely didn't slow us down - we were never trying to be super competitive, and that's how I like it...especially as weird as my life has been for the last few months. And for a team that wasn't really making any effort to push for the win, I think 4th place is pretty amazing!
WHOA! 4th place?! I'm shocked. I had so much fun reading at my own pace this time around. I may have only rushed reading a book once or twice. Liz, Courtney & Karen, as always, it is so much fun being on a team with you wonderful ladies. I have some new authors, genres and books i'm looking forward to reading.

I had a great time too! I felt like we were tackling the challenges pretty quickly. I don’t think any of us slowed things down. It always seemed like we were posting around the same time. I don’t think it would be as enjoyable if we were extremely competitive. I like actually enjoying the books instead of just rushing through them. Lol I just love these challenges bc I always struggle to pick which book to read. It’s fun to have something to narrow down what I should read. And of course reading as a group, seeing what others are reading and their thoughts on the books. I can’t wait for the next round. Hopefully we can team up again!
Totally agree! I have such a hard time picking a book if I don't have a task to complete now 🤣. Definitely makes it easier, and more fun! Like a scavenger hunt!Would love to do this again with you all next time!

76. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.
77. Each teammate reads a book that the teammate after them alphabetically has rated 5 stars. No pass for this task.
78. Read 6 books with alliteration in the title or author's name.
79. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.
80. Read 4 books initially published in different decades.
81. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books with a dog/dogs on the cover. (A different animal may be used when assigned.)
82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series.
83. Read 8 books with a white flower/s on the cover. (A different color may be used when assigned.)
84. Pick a category from the current RRRC Monthly Challenge and read 6 books for that category. Reader's Choice is exempt from this task.
85. Each teammate reads a debut book by an author. No pass for this task.
86. Read at least 1500 pages in books with a hat on the cover. (A different object may be used when assigned.)
87. Read 8 books set in NYC. (A different city may be used when assigned.)
88. Read 6 books with a boat, plane, car or motorcycle on the cover, teams decide which.
89. Read 8 books tagged with 'wedding' or 'proposal'.
90. Each member reads a book published in sequential months, i.e. June, July, August and September 2019. Teams decide which months. No pass for this task.
91. Add up the years of the teammates' births and each teammate reads a book with that minimum number of pages. For example, teammates were born in 75, 83, 87 and 94 - each teammate reads a book at least 339 pages long. No pass for this task.
92. Read over 1500 pages in books set in the future or the past - teams decide.
93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
94. Read 6 books published in sequential years, teams decide years.
95. As a team, select an animal. Read 8 books tagged with that animal.
96. Read a minimum of 1200 pages with the sun or the moon on the cover, teams decide which.

I’m excited to be back too! I’m happy with the name. I was going through all the challenges that are “team decides”. On tasks that are same author/series, do we want to do like last time, and assign it one person. I think that has worked well in the past. That would leave the tasks that we all have to agree on: Profession, sub-genre, location, cover color, beach/mountains, country, specific item on the cover, trope, type of transportation, future/past, animal and sun/moon.
Yeah, I'm cool with Fast Like Molasses again. It makes me chuckle 🤣.I have the list from last time with our stuff still filled out, and I added in some things like the FACs for the year. Let me jump on the PC so I can post it.
I told Karen that I'm cool with keeping track of everything again since I'm usually the last one done.

I bet! Moving is like my number one awful thing 🤣. Honestly, I don't even like going on vacation too much because I like being in my place with my things. I always feel weird being somewhere that's not my space.
