Review - one of my favorite series to read and listen to. Have read this series multiple times when I want a fun, paranormal read. Love seeing the progression of the relationship between Whyborne and Griffin over the whole series. Also like the side characters and their stories. Christine, Whyborne, and Griffin are interesting well rounded characters with many more stories to tell. Am sad that the series are coming to an end with book 11.

I keep hearing great things about this series - I need to get to it one of these days.

Task 11 - 53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
As a team select a teammate and everyone reads a book set in that teammate's home town. If it is a major city, it is easy enough but you are free to use the state if within the US or the country if outside the US. Please include the selected teammate and their home town in your completion posts.

I'm going with Forget Me Not - #64 on M/M Romance Set in Georgia List

In addition to the books on that list, there is also series set in Savannah which begins with Ride the Lightning. I belive there is a related series as well.

Cool! Another Georgia list! And which has the Sinister in Savannah series on it. There are far more options for Georgia than I realized.

Fortunately, I have the day off from work - I got my second vaccine dose yesterday and feel a bit as though I've been hit by a truck - so I have plenty of time to get another book read. I'm looking at Professional Distance or Afflicted.

Second chances
I liked the story though the most action happened in the middle and the last half kind of trailed. Lots happens but it almost felt like another book. I liked the self reflection Bran went through at the end.

That sucks. Its good you're a fast reader :D
Yay for the vaccine! I'm still not eligible here in Alberta. Canada dropped the ball and didn't have enough vaccine secured and they are vaccinating the elderly and nursing home healthcare providers first, then those with underlying conditions THEN everyone else. I hope your symptoms don't get too bad.

As for symptoms, the arm pain was significantly greater with the second shot, and as I mentioned earlier, I definitely have fatigue and headache issues, along with some brain fog. I'm really glad I arranged to be off today, and tomorrow if needed. It's not horrible, just not pleasant.

This was a re read for me. Liked it just as much second time around. Cute, shifter/mate romance with insta lust and very little angst. The story followed a typical shifter /soul mate formula, with moments that made you laugh out loud and cringe because of MC stupidity, but still an enjoyable first book in the series.

I really enjoyed this uptight businessman/rent boy romance. Given that there was lots of sex in this book, the author still managed to develop the relationship between the two MCs very sucessfully. I'll definitely read the next book - I doubt I could resist.

Review: It was ok. It took me a little while to warm up to the MCs, but by the second half of the book I was enjoying it. However, it ends on a major cliffhanger, which honestly seemed like unnecessary drama worthy of a telenovela. I might read the next one to see where the guys end up, but I'm not in any hurry.

Hope you feel better soon, Tru. :)

🌈 76. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item. ⇢ weapon
I have a feeling this might be too broad. Shall we narrow it down to gun, or pick something else?
🌈 82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series. ⇢ Beyond The Realm
I had split the two series that were mentioned between tasks, but I just noticed there aren't enough books long enough in this one.
Shall we go with Magic Emporium again, or pick something else?

I am enjoying the Vino & Veritas series, of which the first 6 have already been published. It's contemporary, though, and I know not everyone enjoys that.
You're right that weapon on the cover might not be specific enough. I suppose gun would work.

Weapon is not specific, but gun is. 😊 (It is actually one of the examples I use in the instructions for that task - jewelry is the other one.)
I have you complete and will give you your task tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon! We are getting our second tomorrow. 🥳 And my family in Georgia did get their vaccine - that's only two, but I'm really glad they did! So that is at least a couple more in that state. 😊

I'm good with either of them honestly, while contemporary isn't my favourite I do like it, and there's a Garrett Leigh in there. :)

Your post made me laugh, Kat! I'm glad your family in GA got their shots, and I promise that there are many people here who are excited about the expanded eligibility. I'm just occassionally dismayed by the people who aren't getting vaccinated and their sometimes very odd reasons for resisting. As for the initial slowness of the rollout in GA, I'm putting the blame for that on the state government, but I'll refrain from going on (and on) about that topic. :)
I hope your second shots go well for you and your family today. My arm is much, much better - I've ust got some fatigue at this point. My mother scarcely had any reaction at all. The relief at knowing I'm less likely to catch the virus and pass it on to vulnerable family members is well worth a few days of feeling tired.

I'll be happy with either - plenty of new authors for me to try with Magic Emporium, which is a good thing. We'll see what KellyJo and Teresa think. Our pre-planning has worked out well so far - thanks for being so on top of things!

Task 12 - 48. Read 6 books featuring cowboys.

Well this works out well! I have a book to read for Scavenger Hunt that fits - More Than Life by Mary Calmes. Of course, I'm not at all certain this will be any good for SH - and after reading some of the reviews I'm not sure how good the book will be overall. but it's Mary Calmes, so I'll give it a shot.
And we can stick with Magic Emporium. No problem.

The truth of the matter is that I enjoy most of Mary Calmes work, and if I like it, I'll reread it. Some of her books do little for me. Happily, More Than Life fits in the former category and will end up being a comfort read. Is it her best work? No. Is it occasionally self-derivative? Yes. I don't care - I liked it anyway.

I hope you feel better soon!

Reading is my escape, too, and the more stressed (or depressed) I am the more I read. This past year I've read a lot, lol.

Review: I'm not usually the biggest fan of cowboy stories, but I enjoyed this one. The best thing about it was the sense of place, I really loved the vivid, gorgeous descriptions of the mountains. The mystery was good even if I figured it out pretty quickly, but what was lacking was the romance. There wasn't much of it and it felt a bit rushed.

Didn’t work for me
I wanted to like this. Time travel done well is very interesting and often has morality issues I like seeing other people’s ideas of. However this plot had more holes than Swiss cheese. It was confusing and contradictory in some places. We are told a lot rather than shown. Things just work out without effort. I’m just left with lots of questions.
