TART Challenge - Round 3 - Rainbow Tarts (9)

I think that would probably be fine, but I don't think you have to worry. We still need my book (will be done soon, omg it doesn't end), KellyJo's, and 2 others.

Sweet but not sugary. I love that they got to know each other well and didn't rush. I felt for poor Nicki but loved the people that surrounded her with love.

Review: Unlikable characters and way too much sex. Not for me at all.

Sweet second chance romance. A little sad to start but worked out well. Easy read and I liked the characters.

Review: I started off reading this one, and found myself a bit disappointed. I switched over to the audio version narrated by Cornell Collins, and began enjoying it much more. I like Joachim and Ainsley and hated the bits of the story where they were at odds. A significant portion of that conflict could be chalked up to insecurities rooted in the inability of same sex couples of the era to publicly acknowledge their relationships and to marry. I thought it was dealt with nicely and without bludgeoning the reader over the head.

Well, taste is very subjective, so if you have a higher tolerance for smut and alpha males you might like it more than I did. But yeah, I personally wouldn't recommend it. The writing was a bit rough too.

Very interesting start to series. Loved the MC's in this one. They are witty, and charming with some laugh out loud funny moments. The ghostly family members added a unique spin to this historical romance. Look forward to reading book 2.

Task 25 - 93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
As a team select a Romance list from GR Listopia with fewer than 100 books on it and then everyone reads a book on that list. This task is limited to Romance lists, therefore Romance books. Please include a link to the chosen list and the position of your book on the list in your completion posts.

I like sports romances, and this was a good college football M/M. It was a bit insta-love (but hey, they were in Paris) and I did have to engage my willing suspension of disbelief quite a bit, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I've only read one other Tal Bauer novel; I need to seek out the rest.

Sweet story that echoed Snow White without being a rehash of that tale. I really like Gareth and Carwyn. Both characters showed growth. I loved the tone and it made me happy.

This is a cute, super easy read. Not a lot of substance, and very little drama. I liked the characters just wish book was a little longer and had more story development.

I really liked Enemies of the State by Tal. Whisper looks good but difficult to read

Teresa - Enemies of the State was the one I was looking at next. I have to admit I was saving it in case we got the task for which we chose gun on the cover.

I thought I'd read that there was a connection - obviously, if there is one, it isn't much. Thanks for letting me know. It's such a long book, I may wait to tackle Whisper after the challenge is over and time isn't of the essence.

Review: This was more of a fairytale inspired fantasy than a retelling. It was a little too sweet for me, I needed more Grimm and less Disney, but it got better towards the end. Overall I enjoyed it.

There's a bit of character overlap, but yeah no need to read it in any order (and that's coming from me, I absolutely can't read series out of order lol)

As for me, I was off yesterday and today. That helps!
Re: Hush/Whisper Thanks, Filipa, that's good to know. I hate reading out of order, too, but minor character overlap I can handle.

Task 26 - 86. Read at least 1500 pages in books with a hat on the cover.
Books selected for this task need to have a hat on the cover. Any type of hat works and any edition's cover can be used. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!

Thanks Teresa!

Thanks - that was my thought to, although that number would be nice, lol.

I saw about the page count - crazy, huh?
And I can't believe we're almost done, either. It's gone by so quickly, indeed!

I know! I've got KellyJo on my Regular Bingo Team, but that's the quietest team I've been on yet.
Tower Teams is proving fun - I'm on Team The Librarian. Teresa and Filipa - you're both playing, right? Which teams?
And as you all know, I'm new to GR and I'm still trying to figure out the diferent games and challenges. If something comes up that you're joing to join, please let me know about it - particularly if you can pick your own teams.

If I post that I’m finished, do you think Kat would be ok with one of you making the formal completion post on my behalf?
