Zercy by Kora Knight

Qualifies: Shelved twice as Futuristic and is #5 on https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Kinky
It reminded me of Avatar with the flora and fauna but uber kinky. I liked the story and although there was an instant connection, love took time. There is much in this world needs a resolution so I look forward to more in this world. One thing that bugged me was the over use of the word boner. Just no.

LOL! I thought some of the word choices were...er...unfortunate, too. And I got an Avatar vibe as well.
I may end up reading Zercy one of these days - I just couldn't face it right after the first one.

This third installment in the Metahumans series didn't hold my attention as successfully as the first two. I'll likely continue as I'm interested in the story arc, but I'll wait a while.

Review: "Dies irae"
It was an emotional rollercoaster, absolutely brutal and so very, very good. This is a science fiction series with a m/m love story in the background instead of a romance, which isn't usually my cup of tea, but it truly is excellent. And even though there were a few times (around book 2, or maybe 3) when I wanted to throw both Flynn and Bennet out of a airlock, I'm happy with where they ended up, and it was a fitting finale for the series.

I liked Zercy better than book 1. More world building, some real dilemmas, and emotion. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger but there definitely needs to be more books in the series.

This was a reread for me. I enjoyed it just as much the second time around. Aliens, human experimentation, forced bonding, all made this an enjoyable read. Very interesting world and I look forward to reading next book in series.

Good glory! Pirates Plundering the World looks like a hoot! Have any of you played before or are playing this time around? I really shouldn't do it, but I'm so tempted....

Task 19 - 94. Read 6 books published in sequential years, teams decide years.
Books for this task need to be initially published in sequential years, for example 2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-2015. Teams decide which years to use. Please include the selected years in your completion posts along with which year your book was published. Remember to use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification.

Lol same. They're both new I think, so we're all playing for the first time. I still haven't decided which, but I'll probably do one.

Years still open:
2016, 2017, *2019
*ETA: I've got some listening time today, so as soon as I finish my current audio book, Junkyard Cats, I think I'll start Stand in Place, which was published in 2019. It's not terribly long, and there's a good chance I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow morning. Obviously, if someone finishes a differnt 2019 book before I do, take the slot!

Going with Crimson Death. I will have time for an audio book today so hopefully I can get through it today.

Yes, it's true - I like (most) of Mary Calmes's books, and consider them comfort reads (or listens, as the case may be.) Stand in Place isn't my favorite, but I enjoy it, particularly the descriptions of the garden.

Cosplay Killer is a good, but not great, mystery. The two MCs - one is autistic, the other suffers from PTSD from his time working as a paramedic - are the most intereting part of the novel. I'd be willing to read the soon to be published follow up to learn more about htem.

Review: A really, really good alternate reality historical. I loved Adares and Rus. Great writing and storytelling, great characters and world building, this was wonderful. A new to me author but I definitely want to read more.

Good continuation of the series
I really liked this pairing. They really did fit well together. I liked that the centuries old vamp wasn’t grumpy and brooding, it made him fun. I’m itching to read the next book.

I have enjoyed this series overall. This book was nice, with little less smut and more focus on storyline. Liked Damian getting a bigger role in things. He has been a favorite character of mine for awhile. This is #25 in series so things have started to get a little repetitive but overall still very enjoyable.

Review: Lots of action and magic. Angel and Simeon's relationship continues to grow and develop, and I enjoyed glimpses into the future love interests for both Isaac and Daniel. But honestly, the best part of the book was Eroch. A solid addition to the series.

I'm a big fan of the series and there was no way I wouldn't like Maud, Helen, and Arland's story. A bit more of a blatant romance than the others, it still has sneaky bad guys and thrilling fights - with swords, no less. It also sets up the books to come very nicely.
Sweep of the Blade is a reread for me - and I'm sure I'll read it again.

OMG book two gave me such anxiety. I might recommend waiting until book three is out as this ends with little resolution.

Of Betrayal and Monsters by Alice Winters
324 pgs/GR
04/25
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
Betrayal and Monsters is a very fitting title. I didn’t know who to trust. But between moments of anxiety there were snippets of laughter and love. I love Rowan and his flood. Ari was off the wall and added lots of comic relief. Quinn was strong and caring. Danger abounds but their pack stays strong.

I hope it works for Scavenger Hunt, because I'm running out of time!

I'm a little torn about this one. It was well written, but my willing suspension of disbelief was strained. Dark though it was, I didn't dislike it - it just never clicked for me.
