Task 11 - 78. Read 6 books with alliteration in the title or author's name.

Book: Bad Judgment by Meghan March
Pages: 307 as per kindle edition in above link
Read: 6 April
Rating: 3⭐️
How it qualifies: Author has alliteration in her name Meghan March
Review: This was ok. Ryker is a bit of a cocky ahole with his sights set on Justine who is a scholarship straight A student. When her scholarship falls through she makes a deal with Rykers dad (a judge) for him to pay her tuition in exchange for her tutoring Ryker. As she starts to fall for him she changes her agreement with his dad to be a
loan but that’s not the only secret between the 2 of them and when they come out there are some decisions to be made.

Suzanne | 514 comments I have classes every day 10 a.m. til 9 p.m., although I do get some reading time. Anyway, I'm about 40 minutes from being done - I'll get my book checked in before bed.

Cyndee - I have a fairly short one I need to read for Uno and it fits this prompt - that I could probably do tomorrow if you need - although sounded like you have things covered just fine. But let me know if you want me to pick that one up.

Review: It's been awhile since I read the previous book in this series, but I didn't feel terribly lost. This one was pretty good - but it's hard to say much else without being spoilery.

I'm never quite sure what I'm going to get with a Helena Hunting story, often finding her adult characters just too juvenile for my liking, yet for some reason I keep getting pulled back to them. I think it's because of stories like this that are cute and likable with the right amount of drama.

This story is not for the weak of heart. It is heartbreaking, and difficult, and immensely painful, but oh so good. Kelsey Kingsley is the master at these kinds of stories.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I wasn't too sure going into this one. I didn't care for Bethany at all in the previous books so I couldn't bring myself to care too much about diving into her story. It took a while (about 65% of the way through!) before I became invested in wanting the HEA for this one, but the combination of Wes' character (and his dirty talk, ha!), his 5-yr-old niece Laura, and finally glimpsing more of Bethany's humanity, anxieties and vulnerabilities redeemed the story.

Review: This was a really interesting premise - living forever but nobody being able to remember you. (and there were other big ideas as well). And I thought about the ideas a lot. But it never really touched my emotions or made me feel like I was dying to pick up the book because I needed to see what happened next. It was for sure well written though.

Review: This is book 5 in the series and I felt it was really slow. The purpose is for Jim to prevent a civilian taking the wrong turn at a crossroads allowing evil to win but he was a bit loopy the whole book concentrating on the soul he had managed to exchange with the devil Devina. He makes lots of bad decisions in this book. The civilians Cait, GB and Duke were either spouting flowery cringey nonsense to each other or not talking just having sex for the main part. Didn’t enjoy this one as much as some of the others in the series. Only one book left.

Total pages read by team = 1,729

Task 13 - 72. Read 4 books published in the decade of a teammate's birth, team decides which teammate.

As a team, select a teammate and then read 4 books initially published in the decade of their birth. For this task, the decade will be 0-9, for example 1990-1999. Use the initial publication date, if there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use that. Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification.

Review: My first Julie Garwood book. I really enjoyed it. Jamie is the youngest, most competent and mature of 4 English sisters and a Scottish highlander is coming to choose one of them to be his bride. Jamie’s father doesn’t want Jamie to leave as she is like a slave to him but Alec Kincaid picks her and she travels to Scotland and tries to integrate into clan life starting wars and making alliances. I loved the way the 2 of them antagonised each other whilst falling in love a little more every day.

Review: I think this book held up well (given it was written about 30 years ago. Shortly after the depression, Will is wandering Georgia, looking for work. He cannot hold a job for long, because he has a prison record. Meanwhile, Elly, who everyone in town calls "crazy Elly" has advertised for a husband, since she cannot take care of her property and her children alone. The romance is sweet, as these two lonely people find each other. There is a fiestly town librarian who helps, and a town slut, who does NOT help. Although I didn't enjoy it as much as the Amy Harmon book I was reading, I enjoyed it!

Suzanne | 514 comments 2021 April Monthly Challenge

🐰1. Happy April Birthday! Read a book published in April, or read a book with a white cover in honor of the April birthstone, the Diamond.

🐰2. Baby Names! Read a book that includes a character (doesn't need to be a MC) or is written by an author with one of the following popular baby names, or any variation or nickname of one of them (example using Robert: Robert, Rob, Bob, Roberta, Bobbie, Robertson, etc). Alternately, you may choose a book with a character that somehow represents the name's meaning (in parentheses). Some of the meanings are pretty obscure, so feel free to be creative! This month's names: Alexander (Defender of the People), Emma (Universal), Henry (Ruler of the Home), Scarlett (Red).

🐰3. Featured Author Challenge (FAC) - Eloisa James: Read one book written by Eloisa James, or any author with her first or last name.
Link to Eloisa James' backlist - https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

🐰4. April is Stress Awareness Month: We are all living with a bit of extra stress these days so use some time in April to kick back and destress.
Read a book by a favorite author, or a book that you feel will be a great escape from everyday stresses.

🐰5. The first week of April is Library Week: We all love our libraries and many of us have fond memories of the times we have spent there. For some of us (myself included) right now we can only visit our libraries virtually, or do curbside pickup.
Read a book you borrowed from the library or any other source (physically or digitally), or read a book that takes place in a library or a bookshop, or a book about books.

🐰6. April 7th - World Health Day: Sponsored by United Nations World Health Organization (WHO), World Health Day focuses upon a different health theme each year. It is an international event to emphasize and work on important health issues or problems. Many countries around the world participate. This day celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the UN's World Health Organization on April 7, 1948.
Read a book featuring a character in the medical field or a book that has a 4 or an 8 in the page count.

🐰7. April 11th - National Pet Day: If you have a pet or not, most people do love animals. For those of you who do have furry fiends at home, this is the day to celebrate that! Take them for a walk and give extra belly rubs or treats. For those who don’t have a pet and are thinking about getting one, perhaps today would be a great day to visit your local animal shelter and adopt!
Read a book featuring an animal on the cover or in the storyline. Or read a book you ‘adopted’ based on a recommendation from a friend or any other source.

🐰8. April 19th - National Garlic Day: I don’t know about you, but I do love garlic! No matter if it’s in pasta, pizza or crunchy garlic bread (yum!) it’s a favorite of mine. It is used in recipes around the world. Native to Asia, garlic has been used medicinally for thousands of years. And, Garlic is believed to ward off evil spirits. What's Halloween without a strand of garlic around your neck, to keep the vampires away? About the only negative thing you can say about garlic, is that it can negatively affect an otherwise romantic evening. And, that's not a problem, if the both of you eat garlic.
Read a book with food on the cover or with someone in the food industry in the story. Or you could read a story featuring a vampire.

🐰9. April 26th - Hug an Australian Day: Go ahead and give a big bear hug to any and all Australians today. Show an Australian how much we love them. This is a great opportunity for you to do your part in improving international relations. And hugs benefit the receiver as well as the giver.
Read a book by an Australian author, or that takes place in Australian. Or read a book with an embrace on the cover.
