MountainKat | 31601 comments Here is your next task!

Task 8 - 62. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name.

Books selected for this task need to be written by an author whose first or last name starts with the first letter of a teammate's screen name. Because of the names on your team, each of you have a teammate whose screen name begins with S or L, so the books need to be written by authors whose names begin with either letter. Please include the matching teammate's name in your completion posts. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Review:
I wasn't sure what to make of this at the beginning but I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. Essentially this is a love story and a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This was wonderfully written and had the right amount of action, fantasy and adventure. Can't wait to read more of this series.

Review:My favourite character was the 3-legged miniature Dachshund called Roxie. She knew what she wanted and made sure she got her own way. The two MCs were just wishy washy and incapable of working out what they wanted let alone make sure they got what they wanted. But by the end Tracey and Rob finally set foot on the way to finally working out what they wanted, so achieving a dream, and then working out how to achieve it together. They should have listened to the dog - she knew what to do.

This is the story of Charlotte Lucas a character from pride and prejudice and her relationship to her husband Mr Collins. This was an entertaining read that shone a different light on this character. I'm generally not a fan of rewrites or spin offsof classics but this was an exception

Review:

After getting a taste of these characters in Perfect Proposal, I was excited to take another trip in to the world of Carys, David, Ward and Angie. And now Becks and Sula too!! Angie is one of my favorite heroines to date of Tracey's books. She is strong, amazing at her job and super super smart. I love how she made Ward a better person and he helped her figure out who she is. I also love that Ward immediately believed Angie when she told him her dark secret and took action right away. I was worried that it was going to be a whole angsty thing but it was perfection in the way it was dealt with. One of my favorite parts of this book was all the mentions of characters from other books and cameos. It made my inner fan-girl squee with glee. I cannot wait to read the next book! Bring on Becks!!

Review: Undrea is a mermaid running an aquarium shop in Nocturne Falls. The book opens with her in her mermaid form swimming in the lake. Ethan is a billionaire computer whiz and he thinks Undrea is drowning and runs into the water and applies CPR. Undrea manages to avoid him seeing her tail and tells him she is a deep diver so can hold her breath for long periods of time. It turns out they remedy later that day as Ethan’s girlfriend wants a giant aquarium built in their mansion. From here the story takes off and romance starts. Ethan’s girlfriend is a danger to him and meeting Undrea opens Ethan’s eyes to an alternative life. Witches, dragons, werewolves and vampires all work together to save Ethan so that he and Undrea can have their happy ever after.

MountainKat | 31601 comments Here is your next task!

Task 10 - 58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate.

You can find the date everyone joined RRRC (not GR) in the group member list. Then select which teammate you are using and read 6 books initially published in the year they joined RRRC. For this task you will be using the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the edition's page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected teammate and the year they joined RRRC in your completion posts.

Also two of us need to read two books

So votes ladies?
2017, 2018 or 2021?

Sally906 | 878 comments If we decide on 2021 - I have an ARC that is due for publication in August - would that count for a 2021 - or does it need to be released?

And the other 2021 I have my edition is 2021 but first published in 2017 - so does that count as 21 or 17?

I don’t fully get that bit

message 187: by Stacie (last edited Apr 20, 2021 03:29AM) (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I'd check with MountainKat but I believe that if an ARC has a publication date, it's good to be used and that we go by edition you are reading.

I found this about ARCS:

Can we read ARC's?"

If they are listed on GR with a publication date, yes.

ETA: You will also need a page count!
