Truitt_T | 805 comments Kat - for a hat, would you accept a riding hat/helmet? I’m on my phone, so I can’t manage to link to the cover, but the book is Last Ditch by Ngaio Marsh, the 11/1/16 Kindle edition. It looks like a black velvet covered baseball cap.
I’d wait until I got home tonight to ask, but 1500 is a lot of pages and I want to start over lunch....

Sorry, I probably missed your lunch, but that will work. 😊

Michaele | 6546 comments MKat - just checking on a page count - this one shows 402 pages on the Kindle first ed (we need 324 for our challenge). My concern is that it says it's illustrated - I looked at the book and it's only a handful of drawings, not like a graphic novel or anything. Idk, is it ok? Conventionally Yours

As long as there aren't tags or something else to show it means state instead of city, that will work.

A graphic novel wouldn't be ok, but that appears to be. Looking at the sample, it seems to be a regular books that I am assuming has a few illustrations. You are good to go with that one.

In the first few paragraphs it states Manhattan as the location of one of the MCs who works as a nurse, so confident it fits ... No contradictions in the tags...

Truitt_T | 805 comments Here's another page count question: The Kindle edition of Last Ditch I'm reading is 288 pages. The first Kindle edition, however, has a page count of 752 pages. See them both here (there are only the two Kindle editions.)

Should we use the 752 page count? I just wanted to be sure.

Weird, huh?

That is odd, but even Amazon still has that edition at 752. Use it. 😊 Sometimes the first edition gets you more pages, sometimes less. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MountainKat | 31599 comments ‼️ PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️

With the challenge ending on Tuesday, May 11th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Sunday, May 9th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!

**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**

‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️

It has to fit the task for it to count. 😊 If you are in a tie-breaker situation, it might matter how much you read, but if you aren't then just completing the task is enough.

If dogs is your selected animal, then yes.

MountainKat | 31599 comments April wrote: "Kat with our task. Do we continue reading from that series if we continue reading?"

For your task, you each need to read a book from the series to complete the task. You got the task yesterday, so you would get the last task tomorrow if everyone has read a book for the current task and you post the completion. 😊

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1083 comments Ryland has disappeared from our team. We haven't heard from Ryland since the 28th of April. We finished the task 3 days ago so I believe that means we can check in with just the 3 of us.

By midnight US EDT Tuesday night.

I know there is some discussion about whether midnight is the end of one day or the beginning of the next. But for this challenge we are making it at the end of the day - so in a little under 26 hours from now.
