Vajra flattened into a hoverboard and she jumped on. The wind rushed against her face as she soared over the crowd of the Atlanta streets.
She looked down and immediately felt wobbly. Vajra, sensing her fear, secured her feet.
"Thanks, Vajra!" Aru managed to shout over the din. She steadied herself and glanced back down. None of the passers-by seemed to think a girl flying above their head was weird. Urvashi had given them a protective charm to stop mortals from seeing or hearing them.
She passed a particularly tall man and swerved around his head, almost falling off.
"Watch it!" she hollered.
A violet blast from Dee Dee reminded her of the crisis at hand. She urged Vajra towards a dark alley where the other Pandavas were gathered.
"You took your time, Shah," Aiden observed, as Aru crash-landed and rolled away from them.
"Aru!" Mini ran over to her, followed by Brynne. "Are you okay? Can you breathe?"
Aru grunted in reply. Vajra turned into a bracelet and wrapped itself around her wrist, leaving her with both hands to sit up.
