I don't generally re-read books on principle - it isn't necessary for me either in the way that I couldn't remember what happened in book #1 of a series if I take a long break between it and book #2. But there are books I regularly get back to:
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (to the extent that I needed to buy a hardcover because my paperback edition wouldn't have stood another re-read without fatal damage), my favourite novels and short stories of Sherlock Holmes, and A Christmas Carol.
My re-reads tend to be more of a mental cuddle blanket than anything else: If I need comforting, I'll roll up in my armchair with either of these books and be ok again after a while.
I used to re-read The Picture of Dorian Gray quite often as well but haven't done so for a few years now.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone used to be another cuddle blanket book for me - but JKR terfing on twitter is somewhat ruining this childhood safespace of mine so that I can't enjoy it as much anymore.

I re-read only when I don't have any other accessible books and when I'm at the height of boredom. Considering that I always have a supply of books to read, that doesn't happen very often.

I like re-reading books, mostly when I'm in a reading slump, because that helps, and I do it for fun sometimes when I'm bored.

I only reread books if I know I liked it but don't remember most of the plot points (so usually after a few years). I don't see the point in rereading something if I already know everything that happened.
