To avoid confusion and make tracking changes to book records easier, we have added two features to the Librarian Note functionality on book records. Notes will now be date-stamped, and when they are added, edited, or removed those changes will show up on the book's log. Please note that these changes are not retroactive, but we hope they will reduce confusion for librarians and staff going forward.

Banjomike | 5166 comments How about adding the text of a deleted Librarian's Note to the log instead of just "Banjomike changed the librarian note: ". It doesn't even say deleted, just "changed".

The one I deleted just said something like "I added the language code" or similar but having the text in the log would give a better audit trail.

We've looked into this a bit, and it is consistent with how librarian logs work in general. "Changed" followed by no text indicates deleted. The text that was deleted is visible in the logged note from when it was added.

If the note is edited instead of deleted, it will show as "changed" followed by the new text.
