Review:
This book was adorable! I really, really enjoyed it. It was a great modern day marriage of convenience story, with enemies to lovers tossed in for good measure.

It also really felt like a Cinderella story to me, even though Elizabeth really didn't grow up poor. But she was very much the starving artist. Walt lets her move into his 'castle' penthouse in NYC after their marriage and her life changes a lot.

I did find the 'falling in love' to be really quick and came out of left field in a way. I feel like Elizabeth came to love Walt, however, I felt like I didn't get to know Walt as well and didn't see the relationship change for him (other than the sex). The epilogue was perfect and helped tie all that together.

I love just about everything Jill Shalvis has done. I was nervous about women's fiction because I like romance so much and her series was such a seamless blend of the two. Plus I love her humor. She's the best!

This really was a good “woman in jeopardy” story, and a nice surprise to me as I’ve never read this author before. It also was a small town romance and so this was a nice blend of the two, with the heroine having been placed in this small town in Wyoming by the marshalls for her protection. The town’s Sheriff is appointed as Presley’s protector and they eventually fall in love. This was sweet, sexy, and just a well-written book, and one that makes me want to read the other books in the series.

Review- I really enjoy this authors writing style but this book just didn't grab me the way all the other books of hers have but it wasn't because of the books fault I was in the middle of a move while trying to read this book. The story was cute. I loved the main characters and the plot but sometimes she makes the female MC so repetitive and not always likeable. This time she did a great job with this female MC. Teagan and Caleb's love story was such a fun story to follow. I love they were friends first and both dated other people and found they were insanely jealous of that. Then then started dating and then he had to move back to England because his one year school Visa came to an end. I loved the whole progression of this book and found it really refreshing. I recommend this book to anyone that likes or loves romance.

This book was fantastic! It is book two of a series with an over arcing plot involving a serial killer named Darcy, but I had no issues reading this one as a standalone.

This is an instalove romance, but it worked well with the plot. However, what actually kept me reading was the serial killer being tracked plotline. This story is a bit gruesome, so be warned. Highly recommend and I will be going back to read book one, before continuing on with the rest of the series.

Review-I had seen the mixed reviews given on this book so I was a little worried if I would like it or not. I loved it. I know I should never pay any attention to others reviews because usually I never feel the same way others do about books.

I thought this book had it all. First the picked up right where they left off and Wren and Lei were still a couple going strong and in hiding after the take down of the king. I love the politics of this book and learning more about the different castes in this book. We also had a few new character join in and they provided a lot of humor which help lighten the book up. There was also battles and tragedies that come with the battles. To me this book had it all and I would recommend this whole series to everyone. I can't wait for the next book to come out

The Summer Deal (Wildstone, #5) by Jill Shalvis
Bookcover/link: The Summer Deal by Jill Shalvis
Rating (1-5): 3 stars
Review:
What are the odds that it’s another book where sisters find each other by DNA testing...This one had more ups and downs with regards to sisters becoming close, which felt more realistic. The characters had a bumpy past before realizing they were related. I enjoyed the relationship development between sisters as well as love interest. Now I love Jill Shalvis but there was something about these characters that are starting to feel a little too familiar to her other characters. They all have different backgrounds and situations, but they seem to have a similar personality and snark. I’ve always loved that about her writing style because I feel I can relate to the characters that way, but I’m growing a little nervous that it’s going to make things feel one-note and recycled. I don’t want this to be true...please don’t let it be true because it will dampen my excitement for future books.

CB (cb33) | 1312 comments Hi Susan - I think that works. The precis indicates he’s forced to hide out in this small town after a tabloid scandal occurs, whereas he normally reigns in Hollywood. Sounds like a good story!

According to a recent Q&A post by Jane, the key is that it’s clear that they are traveling in the book:

“Just need to be sure that she hasn't already arrived. Must travel back in the book... “

Of course to be sure, you can always post your question in the Q&A to hear directly back from Jane herself.

I enjoyed this one quiet a bit, it was fun and quick. This is the story of a Navy SEAL, named Grey, who is undercover at a resort called Fantasy Island. He meet Laney who is there on her non-honeymoon (after finding her former husband to be getting busy with his nurse in the ER). The two of them decide to have a fling. This is a very typical Blaze book, and they were some of my favorite books.

I really enjoyed this sports romance, although admittedly not as much as the first book in this series (which I adored). Part of that may have been I never quite fully connected with the heroine, Giselle, who I knew from the first book had stolen her sister’s boyfriend - kind of a tough thing for the heroine of the next book to come back from in my opinion. I absolutely loved Devon however, who was just a fantastic hero - the experiences that helped shape who he was totally made sense - I understood why he was so wary to have a relationship and yet he took a chance on Giselle, with whom he had formed a deep, and sweet friendship.

I will also say I found it highly amusing how grown men in the story seem to be terrified of Elena and Giselle’s strong, Southern mother. Some of the scenes with the family were hilarious - and more scenes at the Cut ‘N Curl please! The Daisy Lady Gang is the best.

Option 1
Bookish and the Beast (Once Upon a Con, #3) by Ashley Poston
Book/author: Bookish and the Beast by Ashely Poston
Pages: 320
How it Fits: The male MC (Vance Reigns) is a bad boy actor who is sent to a small town called Haven's Hollow, North Carolina for a month to let the dust settle after the latest stunt landed him in the tabloids again. This time wrecking his car and breaking up his costars relationship. His mother and step father think he needs to go away and lay low until this latest scandal goes away. He can't wait to turn 18 and get back to his life in Hollywood. He does go back to LA to film the next movie in the Starfield series and he and Rosie (the female MC) will go to New York in the fall. Rosie was accepted into NYU and he can live in his family's house/condo in SoHo and be near her when he isn't filming. Cute story.

This is the part of the precis that says Vance must leave Hollywood...

On the other hand, Vance Reigns has been Hollywood royalty for as long as he can remember—with all the privilege and scrutiny that entails. When a tabloid scandal catches up to him, he's forced to hide out somewhere the paparazzi would never expect to find him: Small Town USA. At least there’s a library in the house. Too bad he doesn’t read.

Review- I really liked this book. This author is a really good storyteller. I stopped reading a lot of YA romance books because they are to young for me. I enjoy them but not really what I want. This author sucks you into the story and makes you want to keep reading and gets you excited for what comes next. Vance Reigns is an actor that keeps getting into trouble and is being sent to a small town in NC to live with his uncle. He needs to get his head on straight. Once he gets there he hates everything about it until he meets the mystery girl from the ExcelsiCon convention. He never got her name but he never forgot her either. He recognized her by her birthmark behind her ear. He does go back to LA and his character for the movie franchise Starfield but at the end Rosie gets accepted to NYU and his parents have a condo/house in SoHo he plans on living in to be near her when she starts college that next fall. It's such a fun and cute story. It's a Beauty and the Beast retelling so naturally I fell in love with it. Ashley Poston is a really good writer and I can't wait to read more from her

I didn't have the book as a physical book. I returned the audio but I finished the ebook with an hour to spare. The library was taking it back. I will see if I can re check it out.

The sentence was (it's not exact because I didn't realize I needed the sentence) Vance's bags were packed and ready to go when the car comes to get him. He had one last thing left to do before his plane leaves and it was to confront Rosie on leaking his where abouts to the paparazzi. He gets to the homecoming dance and they make up and the dance was magical.....the next chapter is the last one (the epilogue) is finding out Rosie is accepted to NYU and the Vance's family has an apartment he can rent in SoHo so he can live in NY and fly back and forth from LA to NY in between filming the movies.

Not sure if that will do? I will recheck out the book and when it's back in my Overdrive I will get the exact sentences. If that doesn't work I am in trouble because I don't have anything else ready to go and that will put me at my 2 book limit of being behind :(

Just let me know and I will see if I can get it on my Overdrive
